Texas Longhorns Football: Three concerns going into Texas Tech

Texas will travel to Lubbock on Saturday to begin Big 12 conference play. Here are three concerns going into the Texas Tech matchup:

Despite being on Texas Tech’s campus for three seasons, quarterback Alan Bowman has yet to see the field against Texas. Dealing with season-ending injuries as a freshman and a redshirt freshman, Bowman has played in a total of 12 games.

To begin his 2020 season, Bowman had an impressive 38 of 52 performance with 430 yards and a touchdown. Granted, Houston Baptist is an FCS level program but those numbers are still eye-popping.

The Longhorns’ secondary struggled last season, allowing 292 passing yards a game last season. Josh Thompson, D’Shawn Jamison, Chris Brown, and Caden Sterns will get their first test of the season on Saturday.
