Texas Longhorns Football: Five plays that stood out from the win vs UTEP

Saturday’s win was memorable for Texas, despite the opponent. Here are five plays that stood out from the win against UTEP on Saturday:

Malcolm Epps 40 yard rush

After Sam Ehlinger and Casey Thompson got their playing time, true freshman Hudson Card got to close out the game. He then arguably made the most exciting play of the game with Malcolm Epps.

The Epps rush itself is not what stands out about the play but how he got the ball. Card throws a backward lateral after running into a UTEP defender. It almost felt like a play we saw Kyler Murray make during his time in Norman. Card did not do much in the passing game but has already brought electric plays to Austin.
