The defensive line was a major problem for Texas last season, not getting enough pressure on the quarterback. The Longhorns did not raise any eyebrows in that department against UTEP but Alfred Collins getting his first career sack is significant.
Hopefully the first of many, Collins got to Miner quarterback Gavin Brownholtz early in the fourth quarter. If Texas’ defensive line is going to improve during Big 12 play, Collins is going to be a huge factor.
