Texas has released its depth chart before hosting TCU. Jordan Whittington remains the only player out as Jake Smith is expected to return.

Texas has released its depth chart before hosting TCU on Saturday. Jordan Whittington remains the only player out as Jake Smith is expected to return this week.

The Quarterbacks

Sam Ehlinger Sr Casey Thompson So Hudson Card Fr Ja’Quinden Jackson Fr

For the third consecutive game, the quarterback depth chart will remain the same. Sam Ehlinger clearly leads the way with Casey Thompson remaining as the backup. Both true freshman Hudson Card and Ja’Quinden Jackson will continue to fight for reps in practice. If Ehlinger cannot play for whatever reason, Tom Herman will put Thompson in for relief.

The Running Backs

Keaontay Ingram Jr Roschon Johnson So Bijan Robinson Fr

Keaontay Ingram had an impressive day against Texas Tech, averaging 7.4 yards per carry. He will continue to get most of the running back reps with Roschon Johnson closely behind. Bijan Robinson took a scary fall on Saturday and is dealing with a strained back. The freshman should be in practice on Tuesday or Wednesday and will play on Saturday against TCU.

The Wide Receivers

X WR Brennan Eagles Sr Tarik Black Jr
H WR Jake Smith So Kai Money So <or> Brenden Schooler Sr
Z WR Joshua Moore Rs-So Al’Vonte Woodard So

One surprising change from the wide receivers comes from the X-receiver position. Tarik Black earned a start on Saturday after an impressive performance against UTEP. Then, Black only played 29 snaps compared to Brennan Eagles’ 50. This week, Eagles is listed atop the depth chart and will get the start. Even though he was listed on the depth chart last week, Jake Smith did not play. Herman said Smith is expected to play against the Horned Frogs.

Next, we look at the tight ends and offensive line.
