Texas listed among top head coaching positions in college football

The location, facilities and television network make Texas one of the most attractive head coaching positions in all of college football.

The University of Texas is one of the most attractive programs in the nation in regards to college football.

Not only is it located in a beautiful city of southern hospitality, the program itself has an endless amount of money and new facilities. It’s a team that always has a target on their back. You love to love them or love to hate them.

Assuming each head coaching job were available across the nation, which would be the most appealing? MIC’D UP sports talk show with Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller recently voted on their top choices.

Rank Matt Mello Austin
1 Alabama Ohio State Notre Dame
2 Texas USC Texas
3 USC Texas Ohio State
4 Ohio State Clemson Alabama
5 Oklahoma Georgia LSU
6 LSU Oklahoma Michigan
7 Florida Alabama Clemson
8 Clemson LSU USC
9 Michigan Michigan Oklahoma
10 Notre Dame Virginia Tech Miami

Out of the three voters, Texas appeared in the top three in every ranking. Matt Miller put the Longhorns at the No. 2 spot, primarily due to its own television network and being in a warmer climate.

Location was one of the top reasons for Mello, but Austin considered Texas the ultimate dream job. The passion of representing the state of Texas while throwing up the horns is incomparable.

Interestingly enough, talent on the roster or being within a rebuilding period wouldn’t scare many coaching candidates away. You’re going to be able to recruit highly-rated athletes just by being at a prestigious program like this.

If the Texas head coaching job becomes available in the near future, it’d be nearly impossible for someone to turn down.
