Texas Football: Which new hire will make the biggest impact in year one?

Longhorns Wire Roundtable discusses which assistant coach will make the biggest impact in year one on the Forty Acres.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian has formed an impressive group of assistant coaches.

The fan base appeared to be split when the University of Texas announced Sarkisian as the new head coach. Many felt it was a lateral move from Tom Herman, while others wanted to wait to see which assistant coaches that he brought in before grading the hire.

While two well-respected names on the offensive side of the ball were fairly quick to land new roles in Austin, the defensive coordinator search was incredibly thorough. After all, the defensive unit is what has seemingly ailed the Longhorns over the last decade and was viewed as the most important hire.

Excitement began to rise once it was confirmed that Sarkisian’s brilliant offensive mind would be calling the plays for Texas. On top of that, he landed a few of the top assistant coaches across the college football landscape.

Of all the impressive names that Sarkisian has hired, who will make the biggest impact in year one? Longhorns Wire contributors each choose their selection on the next page.
