Although Texas’ season ended just nine days ago, it’s never too early to project the starters for the 2021 season.
Plenty has happened since the Longhorns defeated Colorado in the Valero Alamo Bowl with the firing of Tom Herman and the hiring of Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian.
Beginning with the offensive projections, at least eight starters are expected to return. New faces could be flashing at wide receiver and tight end in the form of freshman. However, becoming the heir to Sam Ehlinger’s throne will be the most important storyline of the offseason.
No matter who is the starting quarterback, Texas will have an experienced supporting cast to help them get up to speed. Mix that with the offensive mind of Steve Sarkisian and the level of improvement from the Longhorns should be significant.
Here is a way-too-early projection at the 2021 offensive starters.
