Z-Receiver 1 – Joshua Moore
Joshua Moore’s career in Austin has gotten off to a shaky start. During his freshman season, Moore played in six games but suffered a season-ending injury. Then, the wide receiver got into trouble off the field, getting arrested for a misdemeanor weapons charge in July 2019.
With Moore’s name now cleared and taking a redshirt sophomore season, he is expected to become a big part of Texas’ offense. Out of high school, Moore was a four-star recruit and a top 10 player in the state of Texas. He made an impact in the 2018 win against USC, scoring a third-quarter touchdown to extend Texas’ lead to nine.
If the wide receiver can stay healthy and out of trouble, he will thrive in Mike Yurcich’s offense. There were not many outside wide receivers besides Collin Johnson who made a significant impact on the passing game last season. Moore will be looking to change that in the Longhorns’ new-look offense.
