The Texas Longhorns have plenty of areas of improvement across the board. Longhorns Wire highlights five areas on the offensive side.

Be more consistent on offense

Quite comical to say the number one scoring offense in the country needs to be more consistent on offense. This speaks to much more than just scoring. Against TCU, the offense took the field first but produced back-to-back three and outs that netted all of one yard. After falling behind 7-0, the offense went to work. Against the Horned Frogs the team had 13 possessions in the game. Of the 13, six ended in a punt and two ended by turnover.

On those six drives ending with a punt the team ran a combined 21 plays which breaks down to a three and out each time. They ran 3.5 players per punt. Not only that, the offense totaled 19 yards. Getting 3.2 yards per drive is abysmal. Against Oklahoma is wasn’t much better either. They punted seven times in that game, five came on three and outs. The inability to be consistent on offense is putting more pressure on their defense.
