The Independents (three teams)
There aren’t many Independents in college football these days. The most notable are Notre Dame and BYU. They do play in conferences for other sports while remaining independent for football. Three teams that classify this way have yet to play the Texas Longhorns in football.
Liberty Flames
Connecticut Huskies
Massachusetts Minutemen
UMass is an interesting one to make this list. The Minutemen didn’t join the FBS until 2012. They won the FCS National Championship in 1998. However since joining FBS they have yet to win as many as five games in a single season since.
