Texas is now targeting one of the top 2022 prospects from the state of Arizona.
The Longhorns extended an offer to four-star defensive end Zac Swanson on Thursday. He’s listed as the No. 4 overall player in Arizona and a top-20 defensive end from the 2022 recruiting class.
The 6-foot-4, 255-pound playmaker has compiled an impressive list of offers including Auburn, Oklahoma, Oregon, Florida State, Michigan State, and USC.
Prior to Texas extending an offer, Swanson told 247Sports that Oregon, USC and Oklahoma were the three schools standing out most. However, the Brophy Prep product did mention that he’d love to receive an offer from the Longhorns.
Steve Sarkisian and his excellent staff of recruiters could make up ground with Swanson in the coming weeks.
