T’Vondre Sweat is staying on the Forty Acres another year. The massive defensive tackle made his intentions known following Thursday’s bowl game.
The news of his return is huge for the Longhorns in light of Keondre Coburn’s departure for the NFL. Sweat has all the tools to become a productive player at the next level. He will look to finish his career strong next season.
You may recall that Sweat broke through the Alabama offensive line to bring down Bryce Young for what should have been a safety. The disrupter should have more opportunities to wreck ball games with a bigger role next season.
No. 93 will likely be joined by Byron Murphy on the interior defensive line with Barryn Sorrell and another edge on the outside.
It’s unclear whether or not Texas will bring in edge help through the portal. As for the interior, T’Vondre’s return likely means the Longhorns won’t need to add a defensive tackle from another team.
