Looking at the teams with the most proven commodities in the Big 12

Texas has more proven returning players than usual this season.

Continuity is the word of the offseason for the Texas Longhorns football program following spring ball. It’s a feature that Texas has lacked on the Forty Acres in recent memory.

Several players and coaches have contributed to the team for as many as three seasons. That has meant three years of consistent messaging for players like Jaylan Ford with linebacker coach Jeff Choate or Christian Jones with offensive line coach Kyle Flood. The development is evident.

In addition to development, Texas returns much of the production it had in 2022. As we noted yesterday, the Longhorns are No. 19 in the country in returning production. In that production are multiple starters who are dependable performers. For that reason, we know more of what to expect from the team in 2023.
