The mass exodus of Longhorns entering the transfer portal continues as defensive lineman Jordon Thomas will look for a new home.
Thomas announced his intention to enter the portal on Friday morning, joining fellow teammates defensive tackle Myron Warren and running back/linebacker Jaden Hullaby as the third Texas player to transfer this week.
The former four-star from the class of 2021 missed his freshman season due to personal reasons and finally joined the team for spring practice. Losing a talent like Thomas serves as a big blow to Texas’ defensive line depth which was lacking much of the 2021 season.
The good news is Texas’ coaching staff signed eight defensive linemen in the 2022 recruiting cycle. Early enrollees Justice Finkley, Jaray Bledsoe and Aaron Bryant are already on campus competing for playing time.
Texas DE Jordon Thomas has entered the transfer portal, @TheAthletic has learned. Former 4-star recruit in the 2021 class.
