Texas DB D’Shawn Jamison announces return for one more season

Great news.

The curtains haven’t closed on D’Shawn Jamison’s career as a Longhorn just yet.

The senior defensive back took to Twitter to announce that he will be running it back, and use his extra year of eligibility.

This is a great sign for the Longhorns, who outside of Jamison now, are losing all of their starting defensive backs from this past season. Texas badly needs leadership on both sides of the ball to help integrate what is looking like a very good and enthusiastic 2022 class, and Jamison could step up as one of those leaders.

Jamison coming back could also be a sign of him wanting to right some wrongs that happened this season, as he was apart of a defense that gave up 224 passing yards per game, and was often targeted by opposing offenses.

He also did not have as big of an impact in the return game as he did in seasons prior.

Jamison and the Texas defense need to take a major step in order to help the program erase the disappointing 5-7 season.
