Texas culture overcame turbulence in 2022

Steve Sarkisian’s culture is weathering every storm.

Texas has a strong culture. That has never been more true than in the last couple months.

When Texas brought in Jahleel Billingsley and Agiye Hall, some believed those moves would be detrimental to their culture. Even though their exits caused a stir, the Longhorns’ culture proved impermeable to drama and division.

Texas had its fair share of on-field frustrations as well. Quinn Ewers didn’t look like himself and struggled to get the ball to Xavier Worthy in the second half of the season. Steve Sarkisian helped the team through its struggles on the field to finish strongly against Baylor.

Next season Texas will return starters at multiple positions. Those starters will be charged with bringing the leadership Roschon Johnson and Bijan Robinson brought last season. They should be up to the task.

Culture is about accountability, and from what we’ve seen key contributors welcomed that accountability this season. It should carry over to next year.
