Texas basketball vs. TCU first half recap

A recap of the first half between the No. 13 ranked Texas Longhorns and the TCU Horned Frogs.

With their first matchup being postponed, this is the first game between Texas and TCU this year. The Horned Frogs (11-7) are coming off a win against Iowa State and the Longhorns defeated Kansas State after a rough 1-4 game stretch.

Texas has held the lead for the first half and have seemingly established a constant control of the flow of the game with impressive performances from Andrew Jones and Greg Brown.

TCU’s only consistent scoring threat has been junior guard R.J. Nembhard who’s 4-for-11 from the field, including 2-of-3 from 3-point line, but the Longhorns have done a good job of containing other TCU players from scoring.

If the Longhorns defense can better contain Nembhard, especially from beyond the 3-point line, they should be able to walk out with a win at the rate they’re on.

Leading Scorers in the first half:

Andrew Jones: 13 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist

R.J. Nembhard: 10 points, 5 rebounds

Greg Brown: 8 points, 3 rebounds
