Texas Basketball: Longhorns stay put in latest Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll

After navigating through a rough stretch of five games, the Longhorns are on now on a two-game win streak.

The Texas men’s basketball team was able to end their losing streak by winning two straight against Kansas State and TCU. However, in the latest Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll, Shaka Smart’s squad stayed put at No. 13 overall.

Despite consecutive wins, it was not enough to move the Longhorns up in the poll due to a 3-point win against the 5-16 Wildcats and a blowout win against the 11-8 Horned Frogs. The strength of their opponents is likely the biggest factor in the team staying at No. 13.

The Longhorns next two games on the schedule are a revenge game in Norman against the surging Sooners followed by Iowa State, the team with the worst record in the Big 12. Weather conditions may factor in if these games will be played as scheduled or not.
