Texas among top schools for four-star wide receiver Braylon James

One of the top wide receivers in the state.

The Longhorns have what could be their most loaded wide receiver room since the days of Collin Johnson, Lil’Jordan Humphrey and Devin Duvernay. However, Texas needs to continue to build it for years to come.

The trio of Xavier Worthy, Isaiah Neyor, and Jordan Whittington is one that could end up being one of the nation’s best receiver cores, but two out of the three can leave after the 2022 season. At the very least, the Longhorns are poised to lose Whittington who already announced that this season will be his final.

This has led to Steve Sarkisian and his staff hitting the recruiting trail extremely hard and targeting the nation’s top receiving talent. They received good news via Twitter late on Friday, as 2023 four-star wide receiver Braylon James announced the top nine schools left in his recruitment.

James is rated the No. 11 wide receiver in the 2023 recruiting class and No. 15 overall prospect in the state of Texas, according to 247Sports composite rankings.

The Del Valle, Texas native is a three-sport athlete that also plays basketball and runs track. He has racked up 89 catches for over 1,000 yards and 13 catches through two seasons for Del Valle High School.
