Texas among top schools for four-star RB Tre Wisner

Wisner is a top-10 running back in the country for the 2023 cycle.

Four-star running back Tre Wisner announced the top eight schools left in his recruitment this week.

Texas made the cut alongside Oklahoma, Oregon, Oklahoma State, USC, Florida State, Texas A&M and Arkansas. Wisner is rated the No. 7 running back in the country for the 2023 recruiting class and the No. 30 overall prospect in the state of Texas, according to On3 consensus rankings.

Wisner earned the Texas District 9-4A-II Co-Offensive MVP as a junior for Connally High School (Waco, TX). He carried the ball 77 times for 909 yards and 12 touchdowns, adding on 18 receptions for 241 yards and one touchdown through the air.

While there are no 247Sports crystal ball predictions at this time, On3 notes Oklahoma is a heavy favorite in his recruitment followed by Texas A&M.

The Longhorns also remain in the mix for five-star running back Rueben Owens.
