Texas among top five schools for five-star WR Kevin Coleman

Even with subpar play on the field this season, Texas is in solid position to land one of the top 2022 recruiting classes in the country.

Even with subpar play on the field this season, Texas is in solid position to land one of the top 2022 recruiting classes in the country.

Steve Sarkisian’s first full recruiting cycle at Texas is currently rated No. 6 in the nation and No. 1 in the Big 12.

There are several blue-chip prospects left on the board that the Longhorns have a great chance of signing, and although much of the attention has been centered around Evan Stewart and Devon Campbell, Texas continues to make strides with some of the top prospects in the class.

Ryan Wright of Rivals recently caught up with five-star wide receiver Kevin Coleman, who Texas extended an offer to in Sept. 2020, and the Longhorns are one of the final five programs left in his recruitment.

Alabama, USC, Florida State, and Oregon were listed alongside Texas.

Coleman is rated the No. 1 overall prospect in the state of Missouri and the No. 3 wide receiver for the 2022 class, according to 247Sports composite rankings.

At the time, Florida State appears to be the leader in his recruitment.
