The Texas A&M Aggies (4-2, 2-1 SEC) pay a visit to the No. 17 ranked Tennessee Volunteers (4-1, 1-1) on Saturday. Kickoff from Neyland Stadium is set for 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Texas A&M at Tennessee odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Aggies lost 26-20 last Saturday to the Alabama Crimson Tide, failing to cover as a 2.5-point underdog. The Aggies were never able to get the ground game going as they rushed for only 67 yards on 35 carries (1.9 yards per carry). Texas A&M’s defense also struggled to contain Alabama’s passing game as it allowed 321 passing yards.

Tennessee, which was off last week, has won each of its last 2 games since losing to Florida in Week 3. RB Jaylen Wright is the head of this Volunteers rushing attack that has totaled 1,156 yards and 13 TDs in 5 games. Wright leads the teams with 435 rushing yards and an average of 7.1 yards per carry.

Tennessee is No. 17 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Texas A&M at Tennessee picks and predictions

Prediction

Tennessee 29, Texas A&M 27

Moneyline

BET TENNESSEE (-155).

I like the Volunteers to pick up the win here as they have been dominant in their 4 home games this year and have a better offense than the Aggies. These are 2 very similar teams and I expect this to be a 1-score game, but the Volunteers’ run game will prove to be pivotal down the stretch in keeping the ball out of the Aggies’ hands.

Against the spread

LEAN TEXAS A&M +3 (-110).

The Aggies have proven that they can be competitive against tough competition, and I expect that to continue to show here. The Volunteers will have trouble containing the talented WR duo of Evan Stewart and Ainias Smith. The Volunteers will also likely struggle to contain the RB duo of Le’Veon Moss and Amari Daniels, who both average more than 5 yards per carry.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 55.5 (-110).

Texas A&M has a very solid defense that only allows 268.8 yards per game, but these offenses will be the stars of the show in this game. The Aggies average 420.5 yards per game on the offensive side of the ball with 275.7 of those coming through the air. The Volunteers are even better and more balanced on offense, averaging 466.2 yards per game with 235 coming through the air and 231.2 on the ground. Look for both teams to have trouble stopping one another.
