Head Tennis Coach Mark Weaver announced the program would welcome Big 12 player and Freshman of the Year Nicole Khirin. Her young career is already littered with conference awards, some of which are listed below.
2023 accolades:
- Big 12 Player of the Year
- Big 12 Freshman of the Year
- Big 12 All-Freshman Team, Singles First Team, All-Tournament Team
- Big 12 No. 1 Singles
- Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Texas Regional Rookie of the Year
That’s a very impressive list that displays how great a program Coach Weaver runs that top athletes want to join. Khirin will add some needed firepower as the Aggies will lose a few key players but are still in a solid position to repeat as SEC Champions. Coach Weaver spoke about what Khirin will bring to the team.
“We are beyond excited to announce the signing of Nicole Khirin,” Weaver said. “She comes in with a wealth of experience from having an excellent freshman year at the University of Texas and performing at the very highest level on the professional circuit. With her addition to our roster, the sky is the limit for the success of our program going into the 2023-2024 season.”
Yes, the sky is the limit for this squad, and I expect great things from them next season.
A big one joining us from down the road 😏
Please welcome our new transfer Nicole Khirin 🤩
