Texas A&M Women’s Tennis win SEC title

The Aggies Women’s Tennis team defeated Kentucky to win the SEC Title

The Women’s tennis team has been dominant all season long earning them a No. 2 ranking with a 24-1 overall record. There was no doubt they would also take the regular season crown as they went undefeated in league play at 12-0.

Coach Mark Weaver has turned the team into a tennis juggernaut, especially over the last two seasons with a 57-3 overall record, a perfect 25-0 SEC record, and making it to the NCAA Quarterfinals last year. Having secured their second SEC title in as many years they are a strong contender to go deep into NCAAs

Below is what he had to say about winning back-to-back titles:

“Clinching back-to-back SEC titles doesn’t happen very often, and it comes down to the great group we have. Playing at this level consistently is extremely difficult, but our girls handled the pressure all year and I couldn’t be more proud of them.”

They will close out their regular season against Vanderbilt, on April 16th, at the Currey Tennis Center in Nashville, Tennessee. The first serve is at 11 am.
