Texans rule out 4 players vs. Jaguars, CB Derek Stingley Jr. to play

The Texans ruled out four players, but Derek Stingley Jr and several other starters are good to go for Sunday vs. the Jaguars.

The Houston Texans ruled out four players for Sunday’s Week 5 battle with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but rookie cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. and seven others didn’t receive an injury designation, were removed from the injury report and will play Sunday.

Linebacker Blake Cashman (concussion), offensive tackle Austin Deculus (ankle), tight end Brevin Jordan (ankle) and receiver Chris Moore (hip) were ruled out and won’t play. Defensive end Jonathan Greenard, who returned to practice on Friday, is questionable with an ankle injury.

Stingley will play despite elbow and shoulder injuries. He practiced fully on Thursday and Friday and should be good to go against the Jaguars.

The Texans will also have defensive tackle Maliek Collins, receiver Brandin Cooks and offensive linemen Kenyon Green and Tytus Howard available to play. All four are starters.

With Jordan and Moore out of action, expect to see more of Philip Dorsett, Tyler Johnson, O.J. Howard and Jordan Akins in the passing game.

The Jaguars ruled out defensive lineman Foley Fatukasi and listed outside linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson, receiver Zay Jones and offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen as questionable.
