After a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, Hoops for Hope is slated to return Aug. 27 at 11 a.m. EDT.
The event benefits the Down Syndrome Awareness Group of East Tennessee and is held annually at Farragut High School in Farragut, Tennessee. Tennessee basketball players will appear at Hoops for Hope for the 13th consecutive year.
Student-athletes from the Vols and Lady Vols will play basketball with children and adults with Down Syndrome.
The Down Syndrome Awareness Group of East Tennessee brings professionals and families together to support individuals with Down Syndrome.
One of the organization’s services is providing scholarships to help those with Down Syndrome participate in athletics and recreational activities.
