Texas running backs coach Tashard Choice is receiving interest from the NFL level.
Chip Brown of 247Sports (subscription required) reported on Thursday that Choice was targeted by the Los Angeles Rams for the same role, but ultimately chose to decline the offer and remain on Steve Sarkisian’s staff.
The Rams recently lost running backs coach Ra’Shaad Samples this offseason, who accepted the role of receivers coach and passing game coordinator at Arizona State.
Choice is a rising star and has proven to be a strong recruiter at the college level. He will likely be targeted by several NFL and college teams over the coming years.
In the meantime, Brown reported that Choice is expected to receive a raise due to the Rams’ interest. Sarkisian will attempt to keep Choice in Austin as long as possible.
