The NC State Wolfpack (4-6) will take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (2-8) at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET. We analyze the NC State-Georgia Tech odds and betting lines, while providing college football betting tips and advice on this matchup.
NC State at Georgia Tech: Three things you need to know
- The Wolfpack have struggled on both sides of the ball of late. In four games since Oct. 19, NC State has been outscored 178-64. Yes, included in that stretch was a 55-10 loss to Clemson, but it also includes sluggish offensive performances against Boston College and Louisville, both of which sport second-division defenses.
- Georgia Tech has a number of injury question marks heading into Thursday’s night game. It enters Thursday off a short week and after a physical battle against Virginia Tech. In a game that features equal talent spread across the two rosters, these GT injuries loom large.
- The Yellow Jackets have been turnover unlucky this season. Not enough takeaways and little success in producing big plays have been a bad mix for first-year head coach Geoff Collins. But in some hidden areas of the game – bad-spot turnovers, field-position deficits, uneven possession numbers – Georgia Tech finds itself in a situation where some normal regression and a leveling of schedules makes for maybe a four-game winner instead of two.

Prediction
Georgia Tech 28, NC State 20
Moneyline (ML)
The contest features an NC State team 0-4 against the spread on the road against an 0-5 ATS Georgia Tech at home. GT has had the tougher overall schedule of the two, and that’s evidenced in the Yellow Jackets’ home schedule.
There is a lean toward the Jackets. Not enough for the ML price, though: STAND PAT on Georgia Tech -139.
Against the Spread (ATS)
We will go with a line watch here. If some pressure comes into the NCSU (+1.5) side and pushes Georgia Tech’s (-1.5) -125 price to -115, the play on the Jackets makes sense and brings some value.
Over/Under (O/U)
The under is 5-1 over the Yellow Jackets’ last six home games and 19-1-1 in the Wolfpack’s last 21 Thursday games. With the defenses ahead of the offenses here, and with a projected game flow allowing sophomore RB Jordan Mason to help Georgia Tech control the clock, the UNDER 49.5 (-125) is a decent play.
