The Wisconsin Badgers (10-2 overall, 4-1 Big Ten) visit the undefeated Michigan Wolverines (10-0, 5-0) Tuesday in a top-10 showdown at 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Wisconsin-Michigan college basketball betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Wisconsin is No. 9 and Michigan No. 5 in the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Wisconsin at Michigan: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:55 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Wisconsin +145 (bet $100 to win $145) | Michigan -175 (bet $175 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Wisconsin +3.5 (-110) | Michigan -3.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 135.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Wisconsin at Michigan: Three things to know

  1. Wisconsin, which enters on a two-game win streak, is 7-1 in its last eight games. However, the Badgers are just 4-3-1 ATS in that span, most recently failing to cover as 9-point home favorites in an 80-73, double-overtime win vs. Indiana Thursday. Senior G D’Mitrik Trice, who scored a team-high 21 points vs. the Hoosiers, leads four Badgers in double figures with 14.8 points per game, along with a team-best 3.7 assists per game. Senior F Micah Potter averages 12.5 PPG and is UW’s top rebounder at 7.0 RPG.
  2. Michigan has covered the spread four games in a row and is 7-1 ATS in its last eight. The Wolverines are coming off impressive back-to-back home victories against Top 25 teams, beating then-No. 22 Northwestern 85-66 as 9.5-point favorites Jan. 3 and then-No. 17 Minnesota 82-57 as 7.5-point favorites Wednesday. Freshman C Hunter Dickinson has led the Wolverines in scoring in five of their last six games, and in rebounding in seven of the last eight. He averages team-bests in points (18.0 PPG), rebounds (8.1 RPG) and blocks (1.4 BPG).
  3. Wisconsin and Michigan have alternated wins in the last four tilts of the head-to-head series. The Badgers took the single meeting last season, upsetting the then-No. 19 Wolverines 81-74 as 6.5-point road underdogs Feb. 27, 2020. Trice scored a team-high 28 points for Wisconsin in the win.

Wisconsin at Michigan: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Michigan 75, Wisconsin 69

Money line (ML)

PASS. The Wolverines will remain undefeated, but their -175 money line price is not worth the risk.

Against the spread (ATS)

MICHIGAN -3.5 (-110) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager. The Wolverines are flat-out the better team. The line is small enough that if the they don’t have a late double-digit lead, they should cover the spread from the foul line down the stretch. Their 77.8% free-throw shooting ranks 19th in the country – and first in the Big Ten.

Plus, Michigan’s returning players will look to avenge last season’s home loss to Wisconsin.

ATS: Wisconsin 5-6-1 | Michigan 8-2

Over/Under (O/U)

Back the OVER 134.5 (-115). Michigan averages 82.5 PPG overall and 78.6 PPG in Big Ten games, while Wisconsin is scoring at a 76.5-PPG clip and 73.4 PPG in conference games.

The fear is that Wisconsin features the Big Ten’s best defense in points allowed at 61.5 PPG. That shouldn’t be an issue with Michigan on its home floor.

O/U records: Wisconsin 8-4 | Michigan 6-4

The Indiana Hoosiers (7-4 overall, 2-2 Big Ten) visit the 10th-ranked Wisconsin Badgers (9-2, 3-1) Thursday for a 7 p.m. ET tip. Below, we analyze the Indiana-Wisconsin college basketball betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Rankings courtesy of the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Indiana at Wisconsin: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:25 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Indiana +310 (bet $100 to win $310) | Wisconsin -400 (bet $400 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Indiana +8.5 (-120) | Wisconsin -8.5 (+100)
  • Over/Under: 131.5. (O: -110 | U: -110)

Indiana at Wisconsin: Three things to know

  1. Indiana enters on a two-game win streak, most recently defeating Maryland 63-55 as a 5-point home favorite Monday. Trailing 43-42 with 10:20 to go, F Trayce Jackson-Davis scored 12 consecutive points during a Hoosiers 21-12 run to close the game. Jackson-Davis finished with game-highs in points (22) and rebounds (15). For the season, the sophomore leads Indiana with 20.3 points per game and 8.9 rebounds per game.
  2. Wisconsin’s Sunday game at Penn State was postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Nittany Lions program. The Badgers last played New Year’s Eve when they knocked off then-No. 24 Minnesota 71-59 as 8.5-point home favorites. Senior F Micah Potter led the way with 18 points and 11 rebounds, both game-highs. Potter averages 12.7 PPG and a team-high 7.3 RPG, while senior G D’Mitrik Trice leads the Badgers in points (14.2 PPG), assists (3.4 APG) and steals (1.1 SPG).
  3. The Badgers swept the Hoosiers last season, winning both games as underdogs. They claimed a 60-56 road win as 2.5-point dogs March 7, and cruised to an 84-64 rout at home as 2-point underdogs Dec. 7, 2019.

Indiana at Wisconsin: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Wisconsin 66, Indiana 55

Money line (ML)

AVOID. The Badgers will take this one, but it’s not worth risking a -400 price tag.

Against the spread (ATS)

WISCONSIN -8.5 (+100) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager. Kohl Center is a “Black Hole” for Indiana. The Hoosiers have lost their last 17 trips to Madison, last winning there Jan. 25, 1998 when Bob Knight was in his third-to-final season at IU.

As a matter of fact, the Badgers are 21-3 in their last 24 vs. the Hoosiers, including a 7-3 ATS mark in the last 10 in the series.

ATS records: Indiana 7-4 | Wisconsin 5-5-1

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 131.5 (-110) is the play. Sure, it’s low, but Wisconsin’s defense allows just 60.5 PPG to rank 22nd in the nation. In its last game, UW held Minnesota to a season-low 22 points in the first half. In last season’s home win vs. Indiana, it held the Hoosiers to 27-first-half points.

O/U records: Indiana 4-7 | Wisconsin 7-4

Minnesota at Wisconsin odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Minnesota Golden Gophers at Wisconsin Badgers sports betting odds and lines, with college basketball betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers (9-1 overall, 2-1 Big Ten) visit the Wisconsin Badgers (8-2, 2-1) in a 4:30 p.m. ET contest at Kohl Center in Madison on Thursday. Below, we analyze the Minnesota-Wisconsin college basketball betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Wisconsin is ranked No. 7 in the Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports. Minnesota is ranked T-24th.

Minnesota at Wisconsin: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday at 11:15 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Minnesota +300 (bet $100 to win $300) | Wisconsin -400 (bet $400 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Minnesota +8.5 (-120) | Wisconsin -8.5 (+100)
  • Over/Under: 139.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Minnesota at Wisconsin: Three things to know

  1. Wisconsin is coming off a home loss to Maryland (70-64) on Monday. Prior to that setback in Madison, the Badgers had won five straight games overall and 15 consecutive games at home (dating back to last season). That home streak includes a 71-69 win over Minnesota on March 1. The Badgers won that game despite shooting just 39.7% from the floor.
  2. The Golden Gophers are playing in just their second road game of the season, and the first effort did not go at all well. On Dec. 15, Minnesota dropped a 92-65 decision at Illinois. The Gophers shot just 27.5% from the floor in the loss.
  3. This New Year’s Eve tilt represents a contrast in styles: Minnesota heads into the game ranked third in the Big Ten in scoring (84.3 points per game). Wisconsin leads the circuit in scoring defense (60.6 PPG allowed). And in any pace or tempo measurement, Minnesota is at one end and Wisconsin at the other.

Minnesota at Wisconsin: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Wisconsin 76, Minnesota 66

Money line (ML)

Minnesota can get to the line a lot and wants to play up-tempo. Wisconsin has seen some fast foes already this season and should be able to weather any Gopher runs.

UM struggled away from home last year. The Gophers being on the road for just a second time and having struggled so much at Illinois is a factor here. THERE IS DECENT VALUE IN WISCONSIN (-400).

Against the spread (ATS)

One can leverage the last-game opinions on both sides here. On the UW side, the Badgers have been touched up by hot shooting in back-to-back games (effective field goal percentages over 54% in games against Michigan State, Maryland). HC Greg Gard’s recent Wisconsin teams have had strong bounce-backs in such situations. Look for the Badgers to clamp down and win Thursday’s game by double digits.

BACK THE BADGERS -8.5 (+100).

Over/Under (O/U)

Respect a well-made total here: PASS.

Duke’s Mayo Bowl: Wake Forest vs. Wisconsin odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s Wake Forest Demon Deacons vs. Wisconsin Badgers Duke’s Mayo Bowl sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons (4-4) battle the Wisconsin Badgers (3-3) Wednesday at noon ET in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. Below, we analyze the Wake Forest-Wisconsin college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Wake Forest vs. Wisconsin: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday at 12:22 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Wake Forest +240 (bet $100 to win $240) | Wisconsin -300 (bet $300 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Wake Forest +7.5 (-110) | Wisconsin -7.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 51.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Wake Forest vs. Wisconsin: Three things to know

  1. The Demon Deacons haven’t won a game since Oct. 31. Since then, Wake Forest has played a stutter-start-and-stop, COVID-impacted slate of just two games, a 59-53 loss at North Carolina Nov. 14 and a 45-21 loss at Louisville Dec. 12. Those defensive efforts marked a big change from what Deacons fans had witnessed in four straight wins during the month of October. In those four games, Wake Forest yielded just 67 points combined.
  2. Due to the Big Ten’s late start and multiple cancelations due to COVID-19 protocols, the Badgers got in just one game before Nov. 14. Despite scoring 94 points over its first two games, Wisconsin heads into this bowl game ranked 105th in FBS in scoring offense (22.3 points per game). However, the Badgers defense ranks sixth in the nation in scoring defense (15.7 PPG).
  3. Both teams tilt toward the running game (runs account for 54% of the Wake Forest offense and 57% of the Wisconsin offense). The Badger defense handles the ground game quite well (3.4 yards per carry allowed), but look for Deacon defenders (4.8) to be stressed.

Wake Forest vs. Wisconsin: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Wisconsin 31, Wake Forest 21

Money line (ML)

PASS. The Badgers (-300) are the lean, but a steep ML price and a solid cover number make the against-the-spread play the value pick.

Against the spread (ATS)

Wisconsin has a question mark at quarterback (QB Graham Mertz is questionable after taking a hard hit in the last game). But UW has a much deeper talent base, and a mix of the Badger defense and a healthy dose of unfinished business has the lean here being in the neighborhood of a 14-point game in fourth-quarter game-control time.

Back the BADGERS -7.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS on the well-made total of 51.5.

Maryland at Wisconsin odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Maryland Terrapins at Wisconsin Badgers sports betting odds and lines, with college basketball betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Maryland Terrapins (5-3, 0-2 Big Ten) visit the ninth-ranked Wisconsin Badgers (8-1, 2-0) Monday for a 7 p.m. ET tip at Kohl Center in Madison, Wis. Below, we analyze the Maryland-Wisconsin college basketball betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The Badgers were ranked No. 9 in the Dec. 21 release of the USA TODAY Sports Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll.

Maryland at Wisconsin: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 4:37 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Maryland +400 (bet $100 to win $400) | Wisconsin -550 (bet $550 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Maryland +9.5 (-105) | Wisconsin -9.5 (-115)
  • Over/Under: 137.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Maryland at Wisconsin: Three things to know

  1. The Terrapins started out 4-0 straight-up and 3-1 ATS, but they’re just 1-3 SU/ATS across the past four, including conference losses to Rutgers at home and Purdue on the road (73-70 on Christmas Day). Total bettors love the Terps, however, as the Over is 4-1-1 across the past six contests.
  2. Wisconsin is coming off an impressive 85-76 Christmas road victory at Michigan State. The Badgers have won five in a row since a 67-65 loss at the buzzer to Marquette Dec. 4. Like Maryland, the Over is a popular bet on the Badgers – Wisconsin is 4-1 Over in its previous five outings.
  3. These teams last met Jan. 14, 2020, in Madison, with the Badgers coming away with a 56-54 win to push as 2-point favorites while the Under (125.5) comfortably connected. Wisconsin is 3-0 SU/2-0-1 ATS in the past three home meetings with Maryland dating back to Jan. 9, 2016.

Maryland at Wisconsin: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Wisconsin 75, Maryland 70

Money line (ML)

Wisconsin (-550) will cost you five and a half times your potential return, and that’s just too risky, even if it has been red hot lately. Maryland (+400) has lost three of the past four, but you still can’t bet $110 on the Badgers just to win $20. PASS.

Against the spread (ATS)

MARYLAND +9.5 (-105) covered as a 6-point underdog last time out at Purdue. The Terps are 4-0 ATS as underdogs of 3 or more points across the past four games dating back to Feb. 16, 2019. Wisconsin should get the win, but Maryland will keep it within single digits.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 137.5 (-110) has been the rule for each of these teams lately. The Over is 4-1 in Maryland’s past five on the road, and 15-5-1 in its past 21 games overall dating back to last season. The Over is also 4-0-1 in the Terps’ past five following a straight-up loss. For Wisconsin, it has also cashed the Over in four of the past five, with the Over 18-7-1 in the past 26 at Kohl Center.

Wisconsin at Michigan State odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Wisconsin Badgers at Michigan State Spartans sports betting odds and lines, with college basketball betting picks, tips and predictions.

The ninth-ranked Wisconsin Badgers (7-1 overall, 1-0 Big Ten) visit the 11th-ranked Michigan State Spartans (6-1, 0-1) Friday for a 12:30 p.m. ET tip. Below, we analyze the Wisconsin-Michigan State college basketball betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Rankings courtesy of USA TODAY Sports Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll.

Wisconsin at Michigan State: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 12:05 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Wisconsin -125 (bet $125 to win $100) | Michigan State +105 (bet $100 to win $105)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Wisconsin -1.5 (-110) | Michigan State +1.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 140.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Wisconsin at Michigan State: Three things to know

  1. Wisconsin is coming off a 67-53 home victory vs. Nebraska in its Big Ten opener Tuesday. Senior G Brad Davison scored a team-high 15 points with a career-high 7 assists as the Badgers won a fourth in a row but came up just short in covering as 16-point favorites. Wisconsin trailed 33-32 with 14:25 to go before running off 16 consecutive points to take the lead for good. Through the first eight games, senior F Micah Potter leads Wisconsin in points (13.4 per game) and rebounds (7.3 per game).
  2. Michigan State lost its first game of the season in a surprising 79-65 setback at home to Northwestern in its conference opener Sunday. The Spartans, who were 7.5-point favorites, have now failed to cover the number 4 games in a row. Michigan State, which was ranked No. 4 last week, shot just 39% (26-for-67) from the field in the Northwestern upset. Through seven games, junior F Joey Hauser leads MSU with 12.1 PPG and 8.9 RPG.
  3. Wisconsin snapped an 8-game slide in the head-to-head series with Michigan State by pulling out a 64-63 victory at home Feb. 1 – the Badgers were 5-point underdogs and unranked, while the Spartans were No. 14 at the time. MSU won last season’s first contest 67-55 at home, covering the 9.5-point line.

Wisconsin at Michigan State: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Michigan State 65, Wisconsin 61

Money line (ML)

MICHIGAN STATE (+105) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager. The Spartans have won their last 12 home games vs. Badgers. Wisconsin last won in East Lansing in 2004. Maybe, this line is a trap, but I’ll take my chances with that 12-0 trend.

Against the spread (ATS)

PASS since I’m backing the Spartans ML. However, if you prefer to take the points, feel free to skip the ML play and bet Michigan State +1.5 (-110).

ATS records: Wisconsin 3-4-1 | Michigan State 2-5

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 140.5 (-110) is the way to go. Wisconsin has one of the stingiest defenses in the country, allowing 57.5 PPG to rank 15th. The Badgers rank 14th in opponents’ field-goal percentage at 36.2%. Don’t be surprised if the combined score is Under 50 at halftime.

O/U records: Wisconsin 5-3 | Michigan State 4-3

Nebraska at Wisconsin odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Tuesday’s Nebraska Cornhuskers at Wisconsin Badgers sports betting odds and lines, with college basketball betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers (4-3 overall, 0-0 Big Ten) visit the Wisconsin Badgers (6-1, 0-0) in a Tuesday evening affair at Kohl Center in Madison, Wisc. Tip-off will be at 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Nebraska-Wisconsin college basketball betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Wisconsin is No. 9 in the Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Nebraska at Wisconsin: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday at 11 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Nebraska +1250 (bet $100 to win $1,250) | Wisconsin -3000 (bet $3,000 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Nebraska +17.5 (-120) | Wisconsin -17.5 (+100)
  • Over/Under: 141.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Nebraska at Wisconsin: Three things to know

  1. The Cornhuskers own tempo numbers that put them in the top-10% nationally, and that’s factored into UN averaging 81.6 points per game (63rd). Led by junior G Teddy Allen‘s 18.3 points per game, five Nebraska players are averaging double figures in the scoring column.
  2. The Badgers rank 18th in the nation in scoring defense. Wisconsin has yielded just 58.1 PPG. UW has been a plus in the turnover margin five times in seven games, including three in a row. The Badgers are avoiding turnovers at a top-5 rate and haven’t committed more than 10 in any single game. Senior F Tyler Wahl is averaging 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks per game.
  3. In offensive efficiency analytics, Nebraska ranks in the top-150 in the nation but by those measures, the Cornhuskers would still be the worst offense Wisconsin has faced in its last five games. Over the previous four, the Badgers forced 13.8 turnovers per game while holding their opponents to a 40.3% field-goal mark and 60.0 PPG.

Wisconsin 77, Nebraska 60

Money line (ML)

STEER CLEAR, with true odds likely being well-bracketed on both sides.

Against the spread (ATS)

In a contest with a solid Under lean, and with much respect to the Badgers’ ability to wrap up a 15-to-20-point win, LAYING OFF THE ATS PLAY IS RECOMMENDED.

Over/Under (O/U)

Nebraska is adept at getting steal-breakaway and second-chance points. Both types are just very hard to come by against Wisconsin.

The Over is 12-2 in the Badgers’ last 12 home games, but that’s with a lot of game totals in the 120s and low-130s. TAKE THE UNDER 141.5 (-110) on Tuesday’s significantly higher tag.

Minnesota at Wisconsin: Three things to know

  1. The Golden Gophers racked up a 24-17 road win last time out in Nebraska, winning outright as nine-point underdogs to keep their hopes alive for one of the Big Ten’s bowl bids. In fact, this game’s winner might grab a spot, and the loser could be out of a postseason appearance and the money which comes with it.
  2. Minnesota RB Mohamed Ibrahim is not just one of the most explosive backs in the Big Ten, but he is one of the best in the nation, making Gophers fans and alumni think of Marion Barber III, Laurence Maroney, etc. Ibrahim has 925 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns across just six games, averaging 5.3 yards per tote.
  3. Wisconsin enters on a three-game slide, including an embarrassing 28-7 setback at Iowa last Saturday. The Badgers have had a power outage on offense, averaging just 6.7 PPG during the three-game skid, and they didn’t score more than seven points in any of the outings against Northwestern, Indiana or Iowa.

Minnesota at Wisconsin: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Wisconsin 20, Minnesota 17

Money line (ML)

Wisconsin (-590) will cost you nearly six times your potential return, and that’s backing a team that is 0-3 straight up and ATS in its past three games with a total of 20 points on offense. Not to be all Hammer on y’all, but you can’t touch that.

AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

MINNESOTA +13.5 (-110) is the play here. The Gophers have a star running back who will keep them in the game, as he has the goods to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. On the flip side, QB Graham Mertz has been mistake-prone lately, and Wisconsin is favored by twice as many points as it has averaged on offense over the past three outings, 6.7 PPG.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 47.5 (-115) seems like the slam-dunk play, as someone turned the offensive spigot off for Wisconsin three games ago, and the Badgers have totaled just 20 points behind the mistake-prone offense.

Minnesota’s best bet on offense is running the ball and running the ball runs the clock. All signs point to the Under here.

Wisconsin at Iowa odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Wisconsin Badgers at Iowa Hawkeyes sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The No. 25 Wisconsin Badgers (2-2) visit the No. 18 Iowa Hawkeyes (5-2) for a battle for the Heartland Trophy Saturday at Kinnick Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Wisconsin-Iowa college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The Badgers are ranked No. 25, and the Hawkeyes are No. 18 in the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Wisconsin at Iowa: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated 8:15 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Wisconsin -130 (bet $130 to win $100) | Iowa +105 (bet $100 to win $105)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Wisconsin -2.5 (-110) | Iowa +2.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 41.5 (O: -105 | U: -115)

Wisconsin at Iowa: Three things to know

  1. Wisconsin lost last week to Indiana, 14-6 at home, as 12-point favorites for its second consecutive loss. It has been a weird season for Wisconsin who has had two different extended layoffs due to COVID complications. The Badgers averaged 47 points in their first two games and 6.5 points in their last two.
  2. After dropping its first two games, Iowa has rattled off five straight wins, covering four of those games, including as 13.5-point favorites in last week’s 35-21 victory at Illinois.
  3. The Badgers have dominated this rivalry in recent seasons, winning seven of the last eight meetings, and covering three of the last four, against the Hawkeyes.

Wisconsin at Iowa: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Wisconsin 20, Iowa 17

Money line (ML)

The puzzling line movement leads toward Wisconsin. According to Pregame.com, 56% of the money wagered is on Wisconsin, and 57% of the bets placed are on Iowa.

However, despite the split action, the House has moved the line from the Badgers from a slight underdog (-103) to the current listed price. The only insight I can glean from that is the bookmakers agree that Wisconsin should’ve been favored in the first place.

A big reason for Wisconsin still getting love from the House is its defense is arguably the best in the nation. The Badgers are first in opponent’s points per game, opponent’s yards per game, opponent’s third-down conversion percentage and sixth in opponent’s red zone scoring percentage.

This is the cheapest the Badgers have been in the sports betting market all year, and I am BETTING WISCONSIN (-130) for 1 unit.

Against the spread (ATS)

PASS ON THE SPREAD.

I’d rather spend a little more than deal with the mental anguish of Wisconsin only winning by a point or two and losing because I was playing the spread.

Over/Under (O/U)

For all the credit Wisconsin’s defense is due, let’s show Iowa’s defense some love, too. The Hawkeyes rank fifth in opponent’s points per play and opponent’s in yards per play, and have 16 takeaways with a plus-8 in turnover differential.

Also, the weather might help ground these offenses. The weather forecast around game time is for temperatures to be around freezing with close to 15 MPH winds and a chance of some snow.

The UNDER 41.5 (-115) for 1 unit is probably my favorite play in the battle for the Heartland Trophy.

Rhode Island at Wisconsin odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s Rhode Island Rams at Wisconsin Badgers sports betting odds and lines, with college basketball betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Rhode Island Rams (3-2) head to Madison to play the Wisconsin Badgers (3-1) at the Kohl Center at 4:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Rhode Island-Wisconsin college basketball betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The Badgers are No. 13 in the USA TODAY Sports Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll.

Rhode Island at Wisconsin: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 1:25 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Rhode Island +500 (bet $100 to win $500) | Wisconsin -715 (bet $715 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Rhode Island +11 (-110) | Wisconsin -11 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 135.5 (O: +100 | U: -120)

Rhode Island at Wisconsin: Three things to know

  1. Rhode Island stumbled out of the gate, losing its first two games, but has won three in a row since. The Rams rolled Seton Hall 76-63 as 2-point underdogs, covering a third straight spread to push their ATS record up to 4-1 ATS.
  2. Wisconsin lost to in-state, out-of-conference rival Marquette 67-65 Dec. 4 thanks to a game-winning basket on a tip-in of a Golden Eagles missed free throw as time expired. Wisconsin has struggled to meet bookmakers’ expectations as it fell to 1-3 ATS.
  3. The Badgers’ originally scheduled opponent was No. 24 Louisville but the Cardinals had to pause their team activities following an outbreak of COVID-19.

Rhode Island at Wisconsin: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Wisconsin 70, Rhode Island 63

Money line (ML)

I am going to take the 11 points with Rhode Island and probably hold on for dear life as Wisconsin is by far the better team but the Badgers will have no fans in the stands and if they come out flat maybe the Rams can steal one.

Since I believe in the thinking of sprinkling a little cash on the underdog’s money line if you’re taking the points, I lean a quarter-unit on Rhode Island (+500) but feel free to pass if that’s not your style.

Against the spread (ATS)

How stoked do you think the Rams are to be thrust into the biggest game of their season out of the blue? Conversely, does Wisconsin not take Rhode Island as seriously as it should because they were expecting a ranked Power 5 opponent?

Plus, the Badgers have played a cupcake schedule (252nd-toughest schedule according to Sportsreference.com) and the Rams have played three Power 5 opponents thus far for the 59th-toughest schedule.

Rhode Island excels in its ability to get to the free-throw line and that should help keep this game competitive. The Rams are fifth in free-throw rate and the Badgers are 175th in opponents’ free-throw rate.

If Rhode Island’s two senior guards—Fatts Russell and Jeremy Sheppard—can penetrate and attack the rim they’ll get Wisconsin into foul trouble.

GIMME RHODE ISLAND +11 (-110) for 1.25 units.

Over/Under (O/U)

The market is hitting the Under 135.5 (-120) so I lean that way in Rhode Island-Wisconsin. The Badgers are one of the best defensive and slowest paced teams in the country. I am not very dialed into this total so officially I PASS.
