Nebraska dropped to a 3-0 deficit before scoring five unanswered runs, including two in the ninth inning. The Huskers finished with ten hits in the game and three total RBIs.

Tyler Stone kicked off Nebraska’s comeback with a home run in the fourth inning, his only hit of the game. Will Jesske drove in the second run with an RBI single in the same inning before hitting a sacrificial RBI in the sixth.

Riley Silva drove in the go-ahead run in the ninth with an error, finishing the game with two hits. Cole Evans extended Nebraska’s lead to six with an error and concluded the game with one hit.

Will Walsh started on the mound and pitched for 3.1 innings. Walsh faced 16 batters, threw two strikeouts, and surrendered three runs off five hits. Tucker Timmerman earned the win as a pitcher, facing seven batters, throwing three strikeouts, and surrendering one hit. Kyle Perry earned the save for Nebraska in the ninth. Perry faced two batters and struck both batters out.

Nebraska moves to 7-3 on the season and will return to Lincoln for their home opener. The Huskers will host South Alabama for a three-game series starting Friday afternoon. The first pitch for game one is set for 4:05 p.m. and can be viewed on B1G+.

The Huskers entered game three against Grand Canyon on Saturday night. Nebraska battled the Antelopes throughout but came up short 7-5. The Huskers took a 3-2 lead in the first inning, but Grand Canyon jumped ahead in the third and fifth innings and held the lead for the rest of the night.

Both teams produced 11 hits in the game, but Grand Canyon earned six RBIs while Nebraska earned five. The Huskers also coughed up two errors, one of them resulting in a run for the Antelopes.

Josh Caron led Nebraska in the batter’s box right out of the game, delivering a three-run home run in the first inning. Caron finished the night with two hits and three RBIs. Cayden Brumbaugh produced the other two RBIs for Nebraska, hitting sacrificial flies in the fifth and seventh innings.

Will Walsh started on the mound for the Huskers and pitched for 3.0 innings. Walsh faced 15 batters and threw two strikeouts. Mason McConnaughey took over for Walsh and pitched for 3.0 innings, facing 14 batters and striking out two. Evan Borst pitched for 1.1 innings, faced six batters and threw one strikeout. Kyle Perry finished the game for Nebraska and faced two batters.

The Nebraska baseball team entered its second day of Shriners Children’s College Showdown for a Top 25 battle with No. 21 Texas Tech. The Huskers squared off with the Red Raiders throughout the game, but surrendered three runs in the ninth, resulting in the loss.

Texas Tech took the lead in the second inning, but Nebraska tied the score at 3-3 in the fifth inning. The Huskers finished the game with ten hits but only produced two RBIs.

Dylan Carey drove in the tying in the fifth, earning his lone hit of the game with an RBI single to bring in Joshua Overbeek. Overbeek led Nebraska in the batter’s box, going 4-of-5.

Will Walsh started on the mound for the Huskers, pitching 5.2 innings. Walsh faced 24 batters, struck out four, and surrendered seven hits and three runs. Nebraska brought in five other pitchers following Walsh, combining for five strikeouts, four hits, three runs, and three walks.
