Will Ferrell casually watched a Kings game dressed as Buddy the Elf

Buddy!!!!!

Will Ferrell is the best, as always, and this is further proof.

Dude dressed up as his iconic character, Buddy the Elf from, well, Elf, for the Los Angeles Kings’ game against the Philadelphia Flyers. Ferrell, as you may know, is a big Kings fan, so this tracks. The funny thing was that he looked a little disheveled … and is that a faux cigarette in his mouth?

Per the report you can see below, Buddy told Carrlyn Bathe that it’s been “a tough holiday season … he’s looking for a Kings win.”

Too funny. Here’s that moment from the NHL broadcast.

Ralphie from A Christmas Story is in Elf?! I was today years old when I learned Peter Billingsley was in Will Ferrell’s movie

This is a true fact!

EDITOR’S NOTE: We published this in 2023, but it’s still a wild fact now!

Hey! Did you know that actor Peter Billingsley — who played Ralphie in A Christmas Story — is in Elf?

Yes! This is the first time I’m learning this, so please bear with me as I’ve taken a lap around the internet to see if this was a thing, and I have now learned that it’s not only a thing now, but everyone seemed to know this but me.

Billingsley plays Ming Ming the elf in Will Ferrell’s movie and you’ll notice him in the “Cottenheaded Ninnymuggins” scene below.

There you have it! Ralphie from A Christmas Story is in another Christmas story!

Will Ferrell set to appear on College GameDay for Michigan football vs. Texas

Celebrities galore will be in Ann Arbor for the big game! #GoBlue

It appears that the cavalcade of stars appearing in Ann Arbor for the Michigan football vs. Texas game is growing steadily.

It was revealed on Monday that the Wolverines will have New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter at the game as an honorary captain and that movie star Matthew McConaughey is on the list to attend. Michael Phelps was confirmed to be the celebrity guest picker for ESPN’s College GameDay and Fox will have Moneybagg Yo as the musical guest on Big Noon Kickoff.

But another film legend is set to appear on the ESPN flagship show.

College GameDay confirmed that Saturday Night Live alum and ‘Anchorman’ star Will Ferrell will be in Ann Arbor for the big game as part of the pregame show.

This game is starting to rival any Ohio State home game in terms of celebrity guests, and considering that both Big Noon Kickoff and College GameDay will be on campus, all of the luminaries involved with the big networks will also have their talent on hand for at least some of the game.

Denzel Perryman on Jim Harbaugh: ‘He reminds me of Will Ferrell’

Jim Harbaugh’s unique personality has drawn a comparison to that of an award-winning actor.

Quirky. Weird. Unorthodox.

Those are just a few of the many words you can use to describe Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh’s unique personality has drawn a comparison to that of an award-winning actor.

“I hope I don’t get in trouble for this, but he reminds me of Will Ferrell,” linebacker Denzel Perryman said, per ESPN’s Kris Rhim. “I don’t know if it’s the way that he speaks, his analogies and everything, but they really remind me of Will Ferrell.”

Perryman mentioned that Ferrell’s acting in Step Brothers reminds him of Harbaugh’s personality. He also compares Harbaugh to Ferrell’s performance in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.

“I don’t know if it’s his tone of voice or the way he talks in general, but the first thing that comes to mind is Will Ferrell,” Perryman said. “I mean, I do take him seriously. I take everything he says seriously, though. But when he does joke around, I start cracking up in my seat.”

Harbaugh is Harbaugh and no one is going to change that. While it’s clear that the Chargers players are bought into who he is as a person, they are hopeful that he can bring the same success that he’s had at previous coaching stops.

Chargers LB Denzel Perryman had the perfect Hollywood comparison for Jim Harbaugh

Honestly, we see it.

Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman has a pretty great comparison for his new coach, Jim Harbaugh.

As Harbaugh makes his return to the NFL in Los Angeles, Perryman says his coach reminds him of one of the funniest people in Hollywood.

Per the NFL, Perryman says Harbaugh reminds him of none other than Will Ferrell.

“My first impression of Harbaugh… he reminds me of Will Ferrell,” Perryman reportedly said about the new Chargers coach.

Honestly, we can kind of see it. If they ever make a movie about Harbaugh one day, casting directors might want to look to the Elf star as a possible candidate.

Happy Gilmore sequel with Adam Sandler, new Will Ferrell golf series in works at Netflix

Golf will be one of the stars as streaming giant turns to something new and something old.

Netflix is doubling down on golf comedy with a sequel to the 1990s classic Happy Gilmore and a new television show starring Will Ferrell.

On Wednesday, the streamer confirmed that Adam Sandler will return as the raucous professional golfer Happy Gilmore in a new movie. The golf comedy cemented Sandler as a bankable movie star with its 1996 debut.

While no talent and director are attached as of yet, actor Christopher McDonald, who played the conniving golfer Shooter McGavin in the original film, talked about the potential sequel earlier this year, hinting at his involvement.

Meanwhile, Ferrell will star in a new Netflix comedy series titled GOLF, where he will play a legendary fictional golfer. Ramy Youssef (Poor Things) will co-star on the series and is credited as a co-creator with Ferrell and Josh Rabinowitz.

While no release date is planned for either project, it’s possible both projects will go into production this year and will hit the green sometime in 2025.

Photos: Marvel actress Kathryn Newton and Will Ferrell show up to LPGA stop in Los Angeles

The movie stars showed up for a junior golf clinic with 1,000 kids.

Australia’s Hannah Green certainly stole the show (again) on Sunday at the JM Eagle LA Championship, but a couple of Hollywood stars also took in the action at Wilshire Country Club. One famous A-lister, in fact, managed to mostly go unnoticed.

Kathryn Newton has been playing golf almost as long as she’s been acting, and when she told the hundreds of kids gathered for the Junior Golf Show on Saturday that she was Cassie Lang in “Ant-Man and Wasp” and Lucy Stevens in “Pokeman,” well, the kids lit up.

Newton co-hosted the clinic alongside Jill Painter Lopez (KCBS), LPGA players Emma Talley and Maria Fassi and golf influencer Karol Priscilla.

On Friday, Wilshire member Will Ferrell came out to catch the action wearing dark sunglasses and a hat. A tournament official said Ferrell managed to walk the grounds mostly unnoticed, though a staff photographer did snap some photos.

Puka Nacua’s first time meeting Will Ferrell was painfully awkward: ‘I was so embarrassed’

Puka Nacua met Will Ferrell recently and he choked under pressure, getting one of the star’s movies wrong

Puka Nacua went from being a little-known fifth-round rookie out of BYU to taking the NFL by storm with the best rookie season ever by a wide receiver. That’s earned him opportunities that a lot of Day 3 picks don’t get, like meeting star actors.

At an LAFC game recently, Nacua got the chance to meet Will Ferrell. Obviously excited about getting to talk to a star like Ferrell, Nacua absolutely choked under pressure. He told Ferrell that he just watched one of his old movies, except instead of saying “Semi-Pro”, he blurted out “Tropic Thunder” – a film Ferrell most definitely is not in.

“I went to an LAFC game not too long ago and met Will Ferrell,” Nacua said on Maxx Crosby’s podcast. “I just watched that movie ‘Semi-Pro’ and I’m like, ‘I just watched one of your old movies.’ I’m blanking on it and I say, ‘Tropic Thunder’. He’s like, ‘Oh, I’m not in that.’ I’m like, ‘I know you’re not in that.’ He’s like, ‘What is it about?’ And I was like, ‘The basketball team! Flint!’ He’s like, ‘Oh, you mean Semi-Pro?’ I was so embarrassed. I blew my moment. It was so bad.”

Thankfully, Ferrell’s son came over and diffused the awkward silence by telling Nacua he’s a big fan.

“But then his son came up and was like, ‘Puka, I’m a fan.’ And he saved it,” Nacua said.

In Nacua’s defense, it was an honest mistake and he didn’t pull “Tropic Thunder” completely out of nowhere. Ferrell’s team in “Semi-Pro” is the Flint Tropics, so that’s where the mix-up came from.

That won’t make Nacua feel any better about getting one of Ferrell’s movies wrong but at least you can see where he was going with it.

Watch: Will Ferrell shares his gameplan for Seahawks vs. 49ers

It seems Ferrell does not have a ton of confidence in Seattle this weekend.

The Seattle Seahawks and the 12th Man quietly enjoys a rather star studded celebrity fan base. From actor Chris Pratt to Cy Young winner Blake Snell, there are big names everywhere.

Among them is beloved actor and comedian Will Ferrell, who has a longstanding friendship with head coach Pete Carroll. A friendship forged during Carroll’s years leading the USC Trojans, Ferrell is still connected to the Seahawks coach.

Earlier this week, Ferrell went on Kay Adams’ show to discuss a gameplan idea for the San Francisco 49ers. Like many in the media, it seems Ferrell does not have a ton of confidence in Seattle this weekend.

Given how poorly the Seahawks offense has been on third downs this year, punting every time seems more appropriate than not.
