Chiefs players blindly pick Bo Nix over Patrick Mahomes based on stats

When asked to blindly choose between two QBs based on 2024 stats, Chiefs players picked Bo Nix over Patrick Mahomes in a DNVR interview.

Before the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Kansas City Chiefs players were made available for interviews during Super Bowl Media Week in New Orleans leading up to the Big Game.

Zac Stevens of DNVR Broncos caught up with several Chiefs players last week and asked them to choose between two quarterbacks based on blind stats. The first quarterback threw 26 touchdowns with 11 interceptions. The second quarterback threw 29 touchdowns against 12 interceptions.

Six of the eight players chose the second QB (29 TDs). The seventh “barely” picked the first QB and another player simply asked, “Which one was Patrick Mahomes?”

Stevens then revealed to the players that the first QB with 29 touchdowns was Bo Nix, while the QB with 26 was Mahomes. Check out the video:

Nix went 22-of-30 for 215 yards with two touchdowns against the Chiefs in Week 10 while Mahomes went 28-of-42 for 266 yards with one score in that contest. They’re set to face off again (twice) in 2025.

2 Broncos Super Bowl champions star in ‘Match Point’ mockumentary

Broncos Super Bowl champions Vernon Davis and Omar Bolden star in ‘Match Point,’ a sports mockumentary set to debut on Feb. 11.

A pair of old Denver Broncos teammates have reunited, this time as actors.

Former Broncos defensive back Omar Bolden and ex-tight end Vernon Davis star in the comedy series Match Point, which will debut on Apple TV and Prime Video on Feb. 11.

The mockumentary was created Sports Emmy-nominated director Joslyn Rose Lyons and Davis served as one of the show’s executive producers.

Match Point centers on Max (Davis) and Anthony (Bolden), two former tennis stars who co-host a new podcast together,” according to a press release from the show. “The series follows their behind-the-scenes efforts to launch the podcast alongside a high-strung producer (Ashley Haas) and a ratings-obsessed talent booker (Rob Gordon), all while dealing with pushy executives and a dysfunctional crew.”

Check out the one-minute trailer below:

“I’m excited about the unique blend of comedy and mockumentary in this project — it’s a fresh take on podcasting like you’ve never seen before,” Davis said. “Bringing all of us together in this format creates a one-of-a-kind experience, and I can’t wait for viewers to enjoy it.”

Davis, 41, played with the Broncos in 2015, the year they won Super Bowl 50. Bolden, 36, played in Denver from 2012-2015, winning a ring alongside Davis. The first two episodes of their new show will be available to stream on Apple TV and Prime Video on Tuesday.

Peyton and Eli Manning star in two FanDuel Super Bowl commercials

Following the ‘Kick of Destiny’ on Sunday afternoon, Peyton Manning and Eli starred in two FanDuel commercials during the Super Bowl.

Ahead of the Super Bowl on Sunday, former NFL quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Eli Manning faced off in FanDuel’s “Kick of Destiny” event outside the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

Peyton missed his first kick wide left and Eli’s first attempt fell short. Peyton then hit the right upright on his second attempt before Eli struck his right down the middle, winning the competition.

Their older brother, Cooper, provided commentary for Fox alongside Rob Gronkowski, who participated in the first two editions of the Kick of Destiny (he failed both times).

“It’s unbelievable, I’ve been dreaming of this moment,” Eli said after beating Peyton. “I’ve just been grinding, been working so hard and finally, to be a kicker, it just feels right.”

Eli said he pulled a muscle during the kick but it was “well worth it.”

Here is the kick-off from earlier in the day:

And here is FanDuel’s first commercial following the event:

And here is the company’s second Big Game ad:

“Eli and I have always been competitive, and this is going to be a fun way to challenge each other in a completely different way,” Peyton said in a press release ahead of the Kick of Destiny.

The Kansas City Chiefs are facing the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. The game is on Fox and available to stream on FuboTV (try it free).

‘Peyton Manning’ (Matthew McConaughey) appears in Uber Eats’ Super Bowl commercial

“Peyton Manning” (with CGI assistance from Matthew McConaughey) appears in a funny Uber Eats Super Bowl commercial.

We already knew Peyton Manning is set to appear in two FanDuel commercials during the Super Bowl. The former quarterback is also set to appear in an Uber Eats ad … sorta.

In his continuing campaign with Uber Eats, Matthew McConaughey maintains his conspiracy theory that football was invented to sell food.

McConaughey stars in the company’s Super Bowl commercial this year and he retells the story of football and food with his face CGI’d over historical football figures, including Manning.

“And Peyton, he was a beef salesman,” McConaughey says in the ad. Then the QB is shown saying, “Omaha! Steaks. Omaha! Steaks.” The actual Manning is briefly shown in real footage before McConaughey takes over for the Omaha Steaks bit.

Watch the extended cut of the commercial below, which runs more than a minute and a half long:

In addition to McConaughey, Martha Stewart, Charli XCX, Kevin Bacon, Greta Gerwig and Sean Evans also appear in the Uber Eats commercial.

The Philadelphia Eagles will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday afternoon. The Uber Eats ad will likely be one of the big winners of the day.

Peyton Manning trolls brother Eli in funny Tylenol commercial

Peyton Manning: “Everybody has something that gives them a headache. For me, it’s my brother Eli. In fact, I call my headaches Eli’s.”

Peyton Manning and Eli Manning were the NFL’s most popular brothers for nearly two decades, and they have remained in the spotlight even after hanging up their cleats.

The brothers often allude to a fierce sibling rivalry in their public appearances, even if that’s perhaps not a reflection of reality. In his latest commercial for Tylenol, Peyton continued the bit.

“Everybody has something that gives them a headache,” Manning says in the ad. “For me, it’s my brother Eli. In fact, I call my headaches Eli’s. And when I feel an Eli coming on, I reach for Tylenol.

“These rapid release gels always bring fast relief. No matter how bad an Eli it is — whether its a tension Eli, a cluster Eli, or even a sinus Eli. I just pop a few of these guys and I’m right as rain.”

Manning, 48, won two Super Bowls during his decorated NFL career. He retired in 2016 after winning Super Bowl 50 with the Denver Broncos.

Sean Payton did an interview with Kay Adams at Super Bowl radio row in New Orleans earlier this week. Watch the full interview here.

Of note from the interview, Payton said the Broncos will “be a problem” for opposing teams in 2025. Payton also confirmed that wide receiver is a “need,” and he hinted that the team will target a “Joker” player this offseason.

The coach also touched on the evolution of Marvin Mims, and he weighed in on the controversy of how Kansas City Chiefs games have been officiated.

The Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9. The game will be nationally televised on Fox at 6:30 p.m. ET (4:30 p.m. MT). The Super Bowl will also be available to stream on FuboTV (try it free).

Peyton Manning’s practice for the ‘Kick of Destiny’ is hilarious

Peyton Manning said he went 199-of-200 on practice field goals with his only miss being a 72-yard attempt.

Peyton Manning and his younger brother, Eli Manning, are set to face off in FanDuel’s “Kick of Destiny 3” event at the Super Bowl on Sunday.

The brothers will compete to see who can be the first to convert a field goal during pregame ahead of the Super Bowl. FanDuel has already released two commercials promoting the showdown, and they have now shared behind-the-scenes footage of Peyton practicing for the event.

In the six-minute mockumentary, Peyton clearly exaggerates his preparation, stating on Day 4 that he went 100-of-100 on practice kicks. Notably, none of the kicks are actually shown. Check it out:

On Day 6 of the video, Manning says he missed a 72-yard attempt, otherwise going 199-of-200 on field goal attempts that day.

FanDuel also released a mock press conference featuring Peyton and Eli, with the latter saying he only attended the presser so he wouldn’t be fined.

Here are several more segments from that press conference:

Watch Chiefs TE Travis Kelce’s hilarious attempt to prank DL Charles Omenihu

#Chiefs TE Travis Kelce had some fun with DL Charles Omenihu during one of Kansas City’s practice sessions ahead of Super Bowl LIX.

The Kansas City Chiefs may be preparing for their matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, but that doesn’t mean the defending champions aren’t still finding time to have fun and horse around.

During the team’s practice session on Thursday, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce decided to play a prank on defensive end Charles Omenihu by simulating a basketball dunk on the veteran lineman, a stunt he has pulled in the past.

Unfortunately, Kelce’s plan fell apart when Omenihu caught him in the act and retaliated, which caused the All-Pro pass-catcher to fall on his back in hilarious fashion.

Take a look at this video of the attempted prank, which was posted to Twitter by K.C. Star reporter Jesse Newell this week:

Despite their humorous antics during workouts, Kelce and Omenihu are two of the hardest workers on the team and are sure to be locked in at practice ahead of Super Bowl LIX.

Chase Daniel says Broncos have ‘found their guy’ in Bo Nix film review

Chase Daniel believes the Broncos have ‘found their guy’ in quarterback Bo Nix.

The stats show Sean Payton made the right call with Bo Nix. If you let Chase Daniels tell it, the Denver Broncos have found their guy for the future.

Nix was drafted by the Broncos in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft, coming in with a strong pedigree within his college career as an accurate passer. While there is plenty of room to grow, Nix made tremendous progress in his rookie campaign.

He completed over 66 percent of his passes for 3,775 yards and 29 touchdowns. His 29 touchdowns were good for sixth in the league and led all rookie quarterbacks. This is why, after Daniels reviewed Nix’s film, he believes the Broncos have a franchise cornerstone for the future. Twenty-nine touchdowns in a rookie season is beyond impressive.

We will only see what Denver head coach Payton can do to build off Nix’s successful rookie campaign. Check out Daniels’s film review of Nix for his 2024 season below:

Tim Jenkins breaks down Bo Nix’s performance in playoff game

There’s room for improvement from Broncos quarterback Bo Nix. Tim Jenkins broke down the QB’s playoff debut.

On January 5th, against the Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix completed a career-best 26 out of 29 passes, good for 89.7 percent of his passes and four touchdowns. As he cliched a playoff birth for his Broncos, the game appeared to be a signal as to what could come next week.

Sadly, Nix didn’t deliver, although it wasn’t quite horrible. Against the Buffalo Bills, he completed 13-of-22 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown. While it wasn’t the complete reason for the Broncos’ 31-7 loss to the Bills, his 59% completion rate didn’t get the job done in a playoff loss.

Tim Jenkins recently broke down Nix’s play against the Bills, highlighting his accuracy in moments and areas where he could improve.

Nix took the Broncos to a playoff birth as a rookie quarterback, and after watching Jenkins break down, it’s clear the sky is the limit for the young QB. Check out Jenkins and his breakdown below.
