Monday Night Football picks and prop bets: The Seahawks and Football Team battle to ruin the other’s draft pick

Whose postseason hopes will be all but snuffed out Monday night?

The Washington Football Team, relative to its own mediocrity, is on a heater right now.

The reigning NFC East champs are 2-0 following their Week 9 bye, both upset wins keeping their slim playoff hopes alive despite a 2-6 start. A win Monday night would put them two games behind the Dallas Cowboys in the division with two rivalry game matchups looming in the season’s final stretch. It’s not likely Washington fights its way back to repeat as division winners, but it’s still possible.

Standing in the way of a desperate comeback are the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle badly needs a jumpstart of its own as a limited defense and Russell Wilson’s snapped finger tendon have doomed it to a 3-7 start — and what could be Pete Carroll’s first losing season 2011. The Seahawks currently have a six percent chance of making it to the playoffs, and that would devolve into essential hopelessness if they can’t roll into Maryland and escape with a win in primetime.

The betting public doesn’t believe they will. Washington, at home, has swung from a 3.5-point underdog to a 0.5-point favorite. That makes this game a toss-up between two teams who’ve failed to live up to their own preseason hype.

Who’ll come out ahead and send us into the final third of the 2021 regular season? Let’s talk about it. All odds via Tipico.

First look: Seattle Seahawks at Washington Football Team odds and lines

Looking at Monday’s Seattle Seahawks at Washington Football Team Week 12 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Seattle Seahawks (3-7) will take on the Washington Football Teams (4-6) for the Monday night matchup to wrap up Week 12. Their game kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET at FedExField Below, we look at the Seahawks vs. Washington odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

The Seahawks lost for the fifth time in six games Sunday when the Arizona Cardinals defeated them 23-13, limiting them to only 266 total yards and a 2-for-10 on third down. QB Russell Wilson was held without a touchdown pass for the second straight week. That had not happened since 2016. They scored a second-half touchdown, snapping a 20-possession streak without a touchdown.

Washington defeated the Carolina Panthers 27-21 on Sunday. QB Taylor Heinecke threw three touchdown passes, RB Antonio Gibson rushed for 95 yards, WR Terry McLaurin had five receptions for 103 yards and a score and the defense held the Panthers to 2-for-9 on third down. It was their second win in a row after a four-game losing streak.

First look: Washington Football Team at Carolina Panthers odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Washington Football Team at Carolina Panthers Week 11 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Washington Football Team (3-6) travel to meet the Carolina Panthers (5-5) for a Week 11 matchup at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Washington vs. Panthers odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

The Washington Football Team surprised the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers 29-19, winning outright as a 9.5-point underdog. WFT is just 1-3 SU/ATS in four games on the road this season, though.

QB Cam Newton announced he is back, after producing touchdowns on his first two touches in Arizona, his first game back with the team after re-signing during the week.

Carolina stunned Arizona 34-10 as a double-digit underdog. There is a chance Newton starts in Week 11 vs. old coach Ron Rivera, giving this game some much-needed flavor.

Washington at Panthers head-to-head

The Panthers got the better of their former head coach Ron Rivera in Week 16 last season, winning 20-13 as one-point favorites as the Under connected. This will be Rivera’s first trip back to Charlotte where he spent nine seasons, guiding the team to one Super Bowl appearance in the process.

Buccaneers at Washington head-to-head

These teams just met in an NFC Wild Card Game in Washington Jan. 9, with QB Tom Brady and the Bucs emerging with a 31-23 victory as the Over cashed. WFT covered the 10-point number in a game QB Taylor Heinicke started, so these two quarterbacks have faced each other before. These teams haven’t met in the regular season since Nov. 11, 2018 when Washington claimed a 13-3 road victory.
