Report: Isaiah Thomas to likely seek a ‘ clearer opportunity’ after strong workouts with the Warriors

The Warriors and Isaiah Thomas were reportedly unable to come to a deal

The Golden State Warriors made headlines last week as they brought in two-time NBA All-Star Isaiah Thomas for workouts. While there initially looked to be hope that the Warriors and Thomas could potentially work out an agreement for the upcoming season, the former Celtics star is now reportedly seeking a different opportunity.

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Thomas had a strong week of workouts with Golden State. The issue was more of what the Warriors wanted to prioritize for their final few roster spots. Per Slater, Thomas left without a deal and will look for an opportunity that provides a clearer path to making an NBA roster:

Thomas last played in the NBA on a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans during the 2021 season. Since his NBA All-Star seasons in 2016 and 2017, the former Washington Husky has dealt with chronic injury issues that have limited his mobility and effectiveness. A hip issue has kept Thomas out for much of the past few seasons as he looks to climb his way back into the NBA.

Proving their commitment to wing depth, the Warriors signed veteran wing Avery Bradley earlier today.

While the roster construction didn’t work out for the Warriors, there will certainly be other chances for Thomas to get himself back into an NBA rotation providing he stays healthy.

Steph Curry reacts to Andre Iguodala’s putback dunk in Orlando Bubble on Instagram

After Andre Iguodala threw down a fierce putback dunk for the Miami Heat in the Orlando Bubble, Stephen Curry chimed in on Instagram.

While he may not be suiting up in the Orlando Bubble, Steph Curry is tuning in to watch his former teammates.

After ex-Golden State Warrior Andre Iguodala threw down a highlight-worthy dunk in the Miami Heat’s tilt against the Boston Celtics, the two-time MVP chimed in on Instagram.

When no Celtics boxed him out, Iguodala flew into the lane to slam down a two-handed putback dunk with 5:50 left in the fourth quarter. Running back down the court, the 2015 Finals MVP was hyped.

Curry shared a highlight of Iguodala’s dunk on his Instagram story with a message about golf.

If Iguodala did hit the golf course before his game on Tuesday, it worked. Against Boston, the forward recorded his top totals in scoring, rebounds and blocks since entering the Orlando Bubble.

The veteran finished the contest with six points, eight boards, four assists and a steal in 31 minutes as the Heat cruised to victory over the Celtics. In the second quarter, Iguodala knocked down a shot from long distance to push him to 1,000 made 3-pointers in his career.

With the PGA Championship set to begin on Thursday, Curry and Iguodala will have the chance to tune in for the first major golf tournament of 2020. The PGA Championship will tee off on Thursday morning in the Bay Area at San Francisco’s TPC Harding Park.
