After another late collapse for the Warriors resulted in an overtime loss to the Thunder, the NBA community on Twitter exploded with reactions on Friday night.

After already suffering a tough loss in overtime to the Oklahoma City Thunder at Chase Center in mid-November following a clutch bucket from Chet Holmgren at the buzzer, the Golden State Warriors found themselves in a similar position on Friday night.

Despite going up by as much as 14 points on the Thunder on Friday, the Warriors’ struggles with closing out games appeared again. However, Steph Curry came to the rescue when the Thunder mounted a comeback.

With the game tied, Curry nailed a high-arcing heroic 3-pointer to give the Warriors a three-point lead with only seconds on the clock. Yet, it was just enough time for Holmgren to strike again.

The Warriors attempted to foul Holmgren before he had the chance to get a shot off and send him to the line for two free throws. However, Draymond Green was late. Green made a crucial mistake, fouling Holmgren while he attempted to heave a 3-pointer, sending the Thunder forward to the line for three free throws.

After Holmgren sent the game to overtime with three made free throws, the Warriors had no answer for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren in overtime. The Thunder duo combined for 11 points in overtime to send the Warriors home with another rough loss.

On the way to their 138-136 loss in overtime, the Warriors committed a season-high 29 turnovers against the Thunder. Golden State’s 29 turnovers on Friday matched the most in the Steve Kerr era.

The Warriors are coming off a much-needed comeback win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday in San Francisco. Steph Curry led the way with 31 points on 8-of-18 shooting from the field to go along with five rebounds and five made 3-pointers in 34 minutes.

Jonathan Kuminga provided a spark off the bench, scoring 13 points on 6-of-6 shooting from the field against the Trail Blazers. The Warriors will need Kuminga to provide another spark on Friday to slow Chet Holmgren, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder.

NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors’ losing slide falling to six straight games after OT loss vs. Thunder

After the Warriors’ losing streak extended to six straight with an overtime defeat to the Thunder, NBA Twitter chimed in with reactions.

Riding a five-game losing streak, it looked like the Golden State Warriors were on their way to a much-needed win over the Oklahoma City Thunder following a clutch 3-pointer from Andrew Wiggins with 1.6 seconds on the clock in the fourth quarter.

However, 1.6 seconds was enough time for Chet Holmgren and the Thunder. Coming off an inbounds pass, Holmgren hit a tough turnaround triple at the buzzer over Chris Paul to send the game into overtime.

In the extra five minutes on the clock, the Warriors had no answer for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The Thunder star point guard ripped off 10 of Oklahoma City’s 13 points to secure the road overtime win and extend Golden State’s losing streak to six straight.

Injury Update: Gary Payton II (left foot) out vs. Thunder, to be reevaluated over the weekend

The Golden State guard will be re-evaluated again after suffering a left foot injury.

While stacking up a five-game losing streak, the Golden State Warriors have been without Steph Curry due to an injury, and Draymond Green while he’s serving a five-game suspension.

On Thursday against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Warriors suffered another injury to a key player. After leaving in the second quarter of the Warriors’ loss to the Thunder, Gary Payton II was ruled out with a left foot injury.

He will miss Saturday’s rematch against the Thunder, and the Warriors provided an update for Payton. After his MRI didn’t show any structural damage, the Warriors will reevaluate Payton again over the weekend.

In 12 games, Payton is averaging six points on 45.3% shooting from the field to go along with three boards and an assists in 17.3 minutes per game. With Payton out, the Warriors will have to lean on rookie Brandin Podziemski and Moses Moody in the backcout.

After the first in-season tournament game ended with a controversial game-winner from Steph Curry against the Thunder, NBA Twitter exploded with reactions. See what fans and analysts were saying on Friday night.

The Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder provided intense energy and a dramatic finish in their in-season tournament opener on Friday night.

Following a back-and-forth high-scoring contest that featured both teams trading buckets, the game went down to the wire.

The outcome came down to free throws from a red-hot Lu Dort. However, Dort split the free throws, opening the door for the Warriors to steal the game with 16 seconds left on the clock.

One game after Klay Thompson hit a game-winning jumper at the buzzer against the Sacramento Kings, Steph Curry answered the bell in Oklahoma City. However, Curry’s game-winner didn’t come without theatrics.
