NBA Twitter reacts to Steph Curry’s 37-point performance in Warriors’ win vs. Sixers

Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Twitter after Steph Curry’s impressive 37-point performance against the Sixers.

Following a pair of one-point losses, Steph Curry pushed the Golden State Warriors to a much-needed victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday evening at Chase Center.

With Klay Thompson a late scratch due to an illness, Curry fueled Golden State’s offense against Joel Embiid and the Sixers. For his third straight game, Curry notched more than 30 points, scoring a game-high 37-points on 12-of-17 shooting from the field with eight made 3-pointers. Curry nearly posted a triple double, adding eight rebounds and seven assists on Tuesday.

Over his last three games, Curry is averaging 38.7 points per game.

Jonathan Kuminga stayed hot, adding 26 points, while Andrew Wiggins tacked on another 23 points in Golden State’s 119-107 win over Philadelphia.

Injury Report: Klay Thompson late scratch vs. Sixers due to illness, Brandin Podziemski starting

The Warriors will be without Klay Thompson on Tuesday night against the Sixers.

While most of the attention was on the status of reigning Most Valuable Player Joel Embiid for Tuesday night, it was the Golden State Warriors who were without a key starter against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Klay Thompson was a late scratch due to an illness. Rookie Brandin Podziemski will slide into the starting lineup alongside Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Dario Saric and Jonathan Kuminga against the Sixers.

During the 2023-24 campaign, Thompson is averaging 17.6 points per game on 42.1% shooting from the field and 38.5% from beyond the arc.

After he missed the previous two games, Embiid returns to the Philadelphia starting lineup on Tuesday.

Injury Report: Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins (adductor) cleared to return to practice, out vs. Sixers on Friday

The Warriors will be without Andrew Wiggins due to his adductor injury on Friday against the Sixers.

With Stephen Curry already ruled out due to a shoulder injury, the Golden State Warriors will be missing another starter on Friday night against the Philadelphia 76ers.

After missing the last five games with an adductor strain, Andrew Wiggins has been ruled out for another contest on Friday against the Sixers.

Although he won’t be on the court for their road game in Philadelphia, the Warriors received positive news regarding Wiggins’ injury status. The All-Star forward has been cleared to return to practice with the team.

Via @WarriorsPR on Twitter:

Wiggins is averaging 19.1 points on 51.1% shooting from the field with 5.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest.

Prior to his injury, Wiggins registered his season-high against the Houston Rockets with 36 points on 14-of-19 shooting from the field with eight made triples in a blowout win for the Warriors.

During Wiggins’ five-game absence, Jordan Poole has entered the starting lineup for the Warriors. Golden State will have to get creative with their depth with both Curry and Wiggins dealing with injuries. Players like Donte DiVincenzo, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody and rookie Ryan Rollins could be in line for a more significant role for the remainder of Golden State’s road swing.

The Warriors are slated to tip off against the Sixers at 4:30 p.m. PT on Friday evening in Philadelphia.

After only six jumpers from deep against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday, all eyes will be on Steph Curry as he chases Ray Allen’s all-time 3-pointer record. Advice and prediction

With the potential of a historic performance looming, Steph Curry will likely be gunning for Allen’s record for the second consecutive game. Yet, in his first attempt against Portland at Chase Center on Wednesday, Curry started the contest ice cold, missing his first four jumpers from deep to start the game.

The Golden State guard finished the contest just 6-of-17 from beyond the arc. The chance of a quiet night from Curry in consecutive games seems unlikely.

While Curry has yet to hit 10 3-pointers in a single game this season, the seven-time All-Star guard has had success when playing at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Last season, Curry scored 49 points in Philly, shooting 10-of-17 from long distance 107-96 victory over the Sixers.

With Curry firing away from deep, over 212.5 feels like the play on Saturday.

Prediction: Warriors 116, Sixers 111
