Injury Report: Steph Curry, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green out vs. Jazz on Wednesday

The Golden State Warriors will be down three starters vs. the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.

The Golden State Warriors will be without a trio of starters for a road contest against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.

Steph Curry (left ankle soreness), Draymond Green (left hip tightness) and Andrew Wiggins (right adductor strain) will all be out for Wednesday’s road game against the Jazz.

Wiggins will now miss two consecutive games with his right adductor injury. Without Wiggins, the Warriors suffered a loss to the Indiana Pacers on Monday to snap their 10-game home winning streak.

Without their core trio, Klay Thompson and Kevon Looney are left as the lone two regular members of the starting lineup against the Jazz. Jordan Poole will likely slide in with the starters for the second consecutive game. Poole started in place of Wiggins on Monday against the Pacers.

Rotational players like Jonathan Kuminga, Donte DiVincenzo, Moses Moody and JaMychal Green could all play a more significant role against the Jazz.

Prior to meeting the Jazz, the Warriors recalled former No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman from the G League. Wiseman has spent the last seven games in Santa Cruz. He could potentially be involved in Golden State’s rotation on Wednesday night.

NBA Twitter reacts to Steph Curry’s 33 point performance in Warriors’ win vs. Jazz

After the Splash Brothers combined for 12 3-pointers to lead the Warriors past the Jazz, NBA Twitter chimed in with different reactions.

The Golden State Warriors’ record fell under .500 with a loss on the road to the Detroit Pistons in late October. Since then, the Warriors have struggled to get back to .500. After winning three of their last four games, the Warriors had the opportunity to get to the .500 mark on the season with a victory over the Utah Jazz on Friday night at San Francisco’s Chase Center.

With the chance to get back to .500, Steph Curry handled business. The reigning NBA Finals Most Valuable Player led the Warriors to a much-needed 129-118 win over the Jazz with a game-high 33 points on 13-of-23 shooting from the field to go along with five boards and four assists in 36 minutes.

Curry and his fellow Splash Brother Klay Thompson each drilled six triples to combine for 12 made 3-pointers against the Jazz. All six of Thompson’s 3-pointers came in the second half to slam the door on any chance of a comeback from the Jazz.

Kevon Looney registered his first double-double of the season for the Warriors, tallying 10 points and 12 rebounds in 28 minutes against the Jazz.

Lauri Markkanen continued his breakout campaign for the Jazz with 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting from the field with five made 3-pointers to go along with six boards in 37 minutes.

With a win over the Jazz, the Warriors have now recorded eight straight victories in a row at San Francisco’s Chase Center.

Following Golden State’s win against Utah, the NBA community on Twitter chimed in with different reactions on social media. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Friday night.

NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors’ winning streak ending with blowout loss to Jazz on Wednesday

After the Warriors’ win streak ended with a blowout loss to the Jazz, NBA Twitter weighed in with different reactions on Wednesday night.

After nine consecutive victories, the Golden State Warriors’ winning streak is over.

With the chance to push their streak to double-digit wins, the Warriors surged to a one-point advantage over the Utah Jazz. However, Golden State’s offense went cold, scoring only 18, 16 and 20 total points in each of the remaining three quarters on the way to a blowout loss in Utah, 111-85.

Jordan Poole led the Warriors with 18 points on 5-of-14 shooting from the field in 32 minutes. Steph Curry added 16 points on 5-of-13 shooting from the field with seven boards and two assists in 30 minutes.

Despite a rough loss, Warriors rookie Jonathan Kuminga recorded his fourth consecutive game with double-figures in scoring. The No. 7 overall pick notched 12 points on 3-of-9 shooting from the field with a pair of 3-pointers.

Without Rudy Gobert, Bojan Bogdanovic helped lead the Jazz with 23 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the floor with six boards.

NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors holding off Jazz late with tough defensive effort

After the Warriors held off the Jazz with a tough defensive performance late, NBA Twitter weighed in with reactions. Here’s what fans and analysts were saying on Sunday.

For the third consecutive game, the Golden State Warriors’ contest came down to the wire at San Francisco’s Chase Center. On Sunday, it was the Utah Jazz trading buckets with the Warriors down to the final buzzer.

However, instead of leaning on clutch jumpers from Steph Curry, it was Golden State’s defense that shined on Sunday night against the Jazz. With four minutes remaining, Utah’s Joe Inglis tied the game at 89 points. The Jazz went on to score only three more points for the remainder of the contest.

While Golden State’s offense went cold to close the game, the Jazz couldn’t capitalize. With the Warriors clinging to a two-point advantage, Bojan Bogdanovic heaved a 3-pointer that rimmed out with just 1.8 seconds remaining. Although Utah was able to corral the offensive board, Royce O’Neal missed the tip-in, sealing the game for the Warriors, 94-92.

The Warriors needed just 11 points in the fourth quarter to hold off the Jazz for the victory.

Coming off his first-career game-winner, Curry struggled, scoring just 13 points on 5-of-20 from the field. The two-time Most Valuable Player was especially off from beyond the arc, shooting 1-of-13 from deep against the Jazz.

While Curry went cold, Jordan Poole chipped in a team-high 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field. Damion Lee added 12 points off the bench with four 3-pointers.

After the Warriors escaped with a two-point victory over the Jazz, NBA Twitter weighed in with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Sunday night.
