Through four quarters and one overtime period, Steph Curry carried the Golden State Warriors against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night. Only two points off his career-high, the two-time MVP tallied a red-hot 60 points on 22-of-38 shooting from the field with 10 made 3-pointers to go along with six boards and four assists in 41 minutes.

However, it wasn’t enough to stop the Hawks from spoiling Curry’s season-high scoring effort, In a back and forth battle, the Warriors went ice-cold in overtime as the Hawks went on to win 141-134. The Hawks outscored the Warriors 18-11 in overtime to steal the win on Curry’s 60-point night.

Curry’s 60 point effort was the second-highest scoring performance of his career. Curry has only tallied 60 or more points one other time in his career, scoring a career-best 62 points against the Portland Trail Blazers in 2021.

Over his last six games, Curry is averaging 36.8 points on 52% from the field and 47.7% from beyond the arc.

Only two points off his career-high of 62, the All-Star guard caught fire for 60 points on Saturday night in Atlanta. Curry shot 22-of-38 shooting from the field with 10 made 3-pointers. Curry added six rebounds, four assists and a block in 40 minutes.

Saturday night marked the second time in Curry’s career he’s scored 60 or more points. Curry notched a career-high of 62 points against the Portland Trail Blazers in 2021. Curry has tallied 50 or more points in 14 different games over his career.

Injury Report: Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins (left ankle sprain) won’t return vs. Hawks

The Warriors will be without Andrew Wiggins for the remainder of their game against the Hawks due an ankle injury.

With Chris Paul, Moses Moody and Gary Payton II already sidelined, the Golden State Warriors will be without another key piece for the remainder of their game against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday evening.

After playing 19 minutes in the first half, Andrew Wiggins has been ruled out for the rest of the game against the Hawks due to a left ankle sprain. Wiggins appeared to be limping late in the second quarter.

Watch: Warriors’ Lester Quinones beats buzzer with half-court shot vs. Hawks

Lester Quinones beat the buzzer from long distance against the Hawks.

With the Golden State Warriors leading by five points as the first quarter began to wind down, Trae Young hoisted a deep 3-pointer to cut the Warriors’ advantage down to two points before the buzzer. However, the 1.2 seconds left on the clock were enough for Lester Quinones to strike before the end of the quarter.

With just under two seconds left, Quinones pulled up from half-court to launch a high-arcing buzzer-beater. As time expired, Quinones’ heave swished through the net as the first quarter clock hit double zero.

NBA Twitter reacts to Jonathan Kuminga’s perfect perfromance from the field against the Hawks

Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying about Jonathan Kuminga’s performance against the Hawks on Wednesday night.

Jonathan Kuminga took over on Wednesday evening during the Golden State Warriors’ 132-112 victory against the Atlanta Hawks. The 21-year-old matched Steph Curry with a game-high 25 points against the Hawks.

Yet, Kuminga got to 25 points a bit different than Curry. The Warriors blossoming forward notched 25 points in perfect fashion. The former No. 7 overall pick didn’t miss from the field on Wednesday, scoring 25 points on a perfect 11-of-11 shooting from the field.  Kuminga’s only two misses came from the free throw line, shooting 3-of-5 from the charity stripe.

Kuminga’s 11 buckets against the Hawks tied NBA Hall of Famer Chris Mullin for the most shots made in a game without a miss in Golden State history.

Kuminga added nine boards, two assists, two blocks, two rebounds and two steals in 29 minutes off the bench against the Hawks.

Jonathan Kuminga posts perfect performance vs. Hawks, shooting 11-for-11 from field

Jonathan Kuminga joined a club with Christ Mullin on Wednesday night following a perfect shooting performance from the field against the Hawks.

Three Golden State Warriors produced 20 or more points on the team’s way to a commanding victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Steph Curry tallied 25 points and Klay Thompson notched 24 points against the Hawks, but it was Jonathan Kuminga who stole the show off the bench on Wednesday night,

The 21-year-old high-flying forward recorded 25 points to go along with nine rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals in 29 minutes off the bench against the Hawks. On his way to his second game this season with 25 or more points, Kuminga was perfect against the Hawks — perfect.

The G League Ignite product did not miss a shot against the Hawks on Wednesday, shooting 11-for-11 from the field with 25 points. Kuminga missed a pair of free throws, shooting 3-of-5 from the line against the Hawks.

Kuminga became the first member of the Warriors without a miss to go 11-for-11 from the field since NBA Hall of Famer Chris Mullin in 1990.

Warriors honor Dejan Milojevic with ceremony before game vs. Hawks

The Warriors honored Dejan Milojevic at Chase Center before Wednesday’s game against the Hawks.

For the first time since the tragic passing of assistant coach Dejan Milojevic, the Golden State Warriors returned to the court for a game on Wednesday night in San Francisco. Prior to tipoff, the Warriors honored Milojevic with an emotional ceremony in front of his family and the Chase Center crowd.

As players from both the Warriors and the Atlanta Hawks, the entire Golden State team wore jerseys with Milojevic’s name striped across the back. The Warriors also left Milojevic’s usual seat open for the game. Along with playing a touching video, Steve Kerr spoke to the crowd at Chase Center. Instead of ending the ceremony with a moment of silence, Kerr called for a moment of celebration for Milojevic.

Warriors’ Klay Thompson torches Hawks for season-high 54 points with 10 made 3-pointers

Klay Thompson torched the Hawks with 10 3-pointers on the way to a season-high 54 points on Tuesday. Watch all the highlights here.

With multiple injured players out, including Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins, the Golden State Warriors leaned on Klay Thompson on Tuesday against the Atlanta Hawks, and he delivered. 

In a double-overtime thriller against the Hawks, Thompson was the catalyst for Steve Kerr’s offense on Tuesday night at San Francisco’s Chase Center. In a back-and-forth battle, Thompson continued to answer the bell deep into double overtime. 

Thompson tallied a season-high 54 points on 21-of-39 shooting from the field with 10 made 3s to go along with eight rebounds, three assists and a block in 46 minutes. 

On the way to his first 50-point performance since returning from injury last season, Thompson drilled multiple clutch jumpers to keep the Warriors alive against the Hawks. With the Warriors trailing by one point with time ticking away in the first overtime period, Thompson buried a triple off the dribble to give the Warriors the advantage late. 

In the first and second overtime, Thompson tallied 10 of his 54 points with a pair of made jumpers from beyond the arc. 

Thompson’s performance against the Hawks was the second-highest-scoring effort of his career, just six points shy of his career high. Thompson has surpassed 50 or more points in four games during his nine-year career.

NBA Twitter reacts to Kevon Looney’s game winner in Warriors’ double-overtime thriller vs. Hawks

After Klay Thompson’s 54-point performance and Kevon Looney’s heroic game-winner against the Hawks in double-overtime, NBA Twitter exploded with reactions on Monday night.

Although New Year’s Eve has passed, the fireworks were still underway at San Francisco’s Chase Center on Monday night between the Atlanta Hawks and Golden State Warriors. 

After each team traded leads, the Hawks held a three-point advantage over the Warriors with nine seconds remaining. Coming out of the timeout, Klay Thompson had the first chance to tie the game, but missed. 

However, the Warriors gained another chance on an offensive rebound, but Jordan Poole’s attempt to tie the game was blocked by Dejounte Murray.

Yet, with a third opportunity, Donte DiVincenzo came to the rescue. The Warriors’ guard drilled a deep 3-pointer with seconds remaining to send the game to overtime, 121-121.

Despite the game going to overtime, one extra period wasn’t enough. After Thompson and Young traded clutch buckets, the Warriors and Hawks headed to double overtime. 

In the second overtime, the game came down to the final seconds again. After Draymond Green hit a 3 to give the Warriors a five-point lead with under a minute to play, Murray and Young answered to tie the game at 141 with eight seconds remaining. 

On the final possession, Thompson’s jumper from beyond the arc rimmed out, but Kevon Looney wasn’t done. After two offensive boards, Looney clinched the game-winner with a heroic putback at the rim as the clock expired to give the Warriors their sixth straight win, 143-141.

Looney finished with 14 points, 20 rebounds and four assists in 32 minutes against the Hawks. 

Thompson led the Warriors with a season-high 54 points on 21-of-39 from the field with 10 made triples to go along with eight rebounds, three assists and a block in 46 minutes. 

Green stuffed the boxscore on the way to a double-double performance with five points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, three blocks and two steals in 45 minutes.
