NBA Twitter reacts to Jordan Poole’s 34-point performance sparking Warriors’ blowout win vs. Clippers

Jordan Poole’s 34-points paired with a vintage third-quarter run helped the Warriors secure a blowout win over the Clippers, 115-91.

For the second consecutive game, the Golden State Warriors were trailing by double-figures heading into halftime. However, similar to their win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, a vintage third-quarter run sparked a comeback effort for the Warriors.

Trailing by 11 points, Jordan Poole helped the Warriors turn things around against Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night.

After a quiet start to the game, Poole notched 22 of his game-high 34 points in the third quarter. The Warriors outscored the Clippers, 42-16, in the third quarter and never looked back.

Poole’s 34 points paired with a vintage third-quarter run helped the Warriors cruise to a blowout win over the Clippers, 115-91.

Jonathan Kuminga added another strong performance off the bench with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field with seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks in 28 minutes. Three other members of the Warriors registered double-figure scoring efforts.

The Warriors have rattled off four consecutive wins and hold a half-game lead on the Dallas Mavericks for fifth place in the Western Conference.

Following Golden State’s commanding win over the Clippers, the NBA community on Twitter chimed in with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Thursday night.

Injury Report: Warriors’ Klay Thompson cleared to play first back-to-back since 2019

The four-time NBA champ is expected to cross another milestone on Tuesday night.

Since making his highly anticipated return from a pair of devastating injuries, Klay Thompson has yet to play in a back-to-back. Before the All-Star break opened up over a week of rest for the Warriors, Steve Kerr’s squad had one last back-to-back against the Washington Wizards in San Francisco followed up by a contest against the Los Angeles Clippers in Hollywood.

After playing in Monday’s game against the Wizards, Thompson isn’t listed on Golden State’s injury report for Tuesday’s game in Los Angeles, clearing the way for his first appearance in back-to-back games since 2019. The four-time NBA champ playing in a back-to-back will be the latest milestone in his long recovery from injuring his knee and Achilles.

Via @anthonyVslater on Twitter:

On Monday night, Thompson tallied 27 points on 10-of-21 shooting from the field with five assists and four boards in 36 minutes in Golden State’s 134-126 win over the Wizards.

The Warriors will need to lean on Thompson in the backcourt on Tuesday night against the Clippers. The Warriors will be missing both Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins.

Golden State will meet the Clippers on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Crypto.com Center.

NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors snapping losing streak with much-needed win vs. Clippers

After the Warriors bounced back against the Clippers to snap a five-game losing streak, NBA Twitter weighed in with different reactions.

The Golden State Warriors’ slide hit a season-low with five consecutive losses heading into Tuesday’s contest against the Los Angeles Clippers on the second leg of a back-to-back.

To stop the slide, six different members of the Warriors registered double figures in scoring while the defense limited the Clippers’ offense with a stout performance in front of the Chase Center crowd.

With Klay Thompson, Jonathan Kuminga and Jordan Poole all notching over 20 points, the Warriors snapped their losing streak with a much-needed victory over the Clippers on Tuesday.

WIth Jackie Moon in attendance, Thompson bounced back with 20 points on 9-of-23 shooting from the field with five boards, two blocks and an assist in 34 minutes.

Poole continued his impressive stretch with 20 points on his own on 8-of-13 shooting from the field with four triples, four assists, three boards and two steals in 30 minutes off the bench. Poole has now scored 20 or more points in four consecutive games.

Kuminga led the way for the Warriors, scoring a game-high 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field with six rebounds and six assists in 26 minutes off the bench.

Following Golden State’s bounce-back win against the Clippers, the NBA Twitter community weighed in with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Tuesday night.

NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors’ loss to Clippers despite Steph Curry dropping 33 points

Although Steph Curry tallied 33 points, the Warriors still dropped a loss to the Clippers. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Twitter about the game on Monday.

In the first quarter against the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, Steph Curry started the game with 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting with four 3-pointers on the way to a red-hot 33 point performance.

Despite Curry drilling eight triples against the Clippers, it wasn’t enough to seal a victory on Tuesday in Hollywood.

To pace Golden State’s Most Valuable Player candidate, six different members of the Clippers tallied double-figures in scoring. Terence Mann led the way for Los Angeles with 25 points 11-of-17 shooting from the field with seven boards and six assists.

Outside of Curry, the rest of the Warriors went cold. Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga each scored in double-figures but only combined for 36 total points.

After dropping 33 points in his best performance of the season on Saturday against the Los Angeles Lakers, Klay Thompon struggled with only seven points on 3-of-14 shooting in 27 minutes against the Clippers.

Following the Warriors’ third loss in their last four games, the NBA Twitter community weighed in with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Monday night.

NBA Twitter reacts to Steph Curry’s 33 point performance during Warriors’ win vs. Clippers

Take a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Twitter after Steph Curry dropped 33 points to lead the Warriors to a win vs. the Clippers.

Carrying a six-game win streak, the Golden State Warriors made the trip to Hollywood for a matinee contest against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday afternoon.

After a slow start in the first quarter that resulted in a flurry of turnovers, the Warriors closed the gap against the Clippers in the second quarter to steal a two-point advantage heading into the locker room. After building on their small lead in the third quarter, the Warriors closed the door on the Clippers in the final frame behind an explosive performance from Steph Curry.

Golden State’s Most Valuable Player candidate dropped a game-high 33 points on 12-of-22 shooting from the field. Curry got hot after receiving a technical foul, scoring 13 points in the fourth quarter. The 33-year-old guard hit three of his seven 3-pointers in the final 12 minutes.

Along with a flurry of triples from Curry, the Warriors defense showed up again, limiting the Clippers to 90 points. Outside of a 30 point performance from Paul George, only two other members of the Clippers recorded double-figures in scoring with 13 points each. The Warriors forced 24 turnovers against the Clippers on Sunday on the way to a 105-90 victory in Los Angeles.

After the Warriors improved their league-best record to 18-2, the NBA community on Twitter weighed in with different reactions. Below is a look at what fans and analysts were saying about Golden State’s performance on Sunday afternoon.

Advice and prediction

The Golden State Warriors have been a machine to start the season not only on the court but against the spread. After another blowout win against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, the Warriors moved to a league-best 14-4-1.

While the Clippers possess some offensive firepower behind Paul George and Reggie Jackson, Los Angeles has struggled with consistency, posting a 3-4 record over their last seven games. The Warriors are riding a six-game winning streak with five of the victories coming in the fashion of double-digits. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it. Take the Warriors minus -3.5 on Sunday in Hollywood.

Prediction: Golden State 118, Los Angeles 103

Clippers vs. Warriors: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Before the Warriors host the Clippers in Chase Center’s home opener, here is all the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

For Chase Center’s home opener, the Warriors will host the Clippers on Thursday, Oct. 21, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck!

We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. PT and can be seen on TNT. For everything else you need to know about the contest, including lineups and injury reports, click here.

While welcoming back a full capacity crowd for the first time since the start of the pandemic, paired with the wave of a spirited comeback win over the Los Angeles Lakers, the Warriors will be coming out firing on all cylinders on Thursday night against the Clippers.

As the bench unit looks to build on another impressive performance led by Nemanja Bjelica, Steph Curry will have the chance to bounce back from a poor shooting night after going 5-for-21 from the field against the Lakers.

With Kawhi Leonard out, the Clippers will need to rely on Paul George to hang with the Warriors at Chase Center on Tuesday.

Clippers at Warriors notable injuries:

  • Jonathan Kuminga – Out – Right Knee
  • Nicolas Batum – Out – Personal Reasons
  • Serge Ibaka – Out – Lower Back
  • Keon Johnson – Out – Illness

The lines, courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook:

Point spread: Clippers (+3.5) / Warriors (-3.5)

Money line: Clippers (-112) / Warriors (-108)

Over-under: 227.5

Best Bet: Despite a poor shooting night from both squads that ranked in the top-five defensively last season, the Lakers and Warriors still surged past the over of 225.5 on opening night.

On Thursday, Curry will be gunning to get back on track with his shooting in front of a frenzied crowd at Chase Center against the Clippers. In his last appearance at Chase Center during the preseason, Curry dropped 41 points in only 30 minutes against the Portland Trail Blazers. Thursday night could be setting up for another night of fireworks in the Bay Area for Curry.

Adding to the potential over bet, the Clippers could feature multiple small lineups with both Nicolas Batum and Serge Ibaka out for the contest. Thursday’s game will highlight only two true bigs on both sides, between Kevon Looney and Ivica Zubac.

On the way to an appearance in the Western Conference Finals, the Clippers had success while playing small in the playoffs. Both teams could look to play fast and run on Thursday, making the over look like a bet that’s standing out on the ticket for the second game in a row.

Prediction: 119-116 Warriors
