Season series: Tied 1-1

The Warriors won their 6th straight Thursday night with a 133-110 haymaker to the Houston Rockets. The Splash Brothers, G Stephen Curry and G Klay Thompson, each had 29 points and combined for 9 made 3-pointers. They beat the Mavs 104-100 Tuesday night.

The Mavs are feeling it, too, winners of 8 of 10. After the defeat in the Bay, they clipped the Atlanta Hawks 109-95 Thursday night. G Luka Doncic had 25 points, 12 boards and 8 assists while G Kyrie Irving scored 26 points.

Warriors at Mavericks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 111, Mavs 109

Moneyline

Both of these teams are on the back end of back-to-backs. You’d expect Golden State, the older team, to be weaker in such circumstances. They’re actually 10-5 while Dallas is 7-5 on no rest.

The Warriors are 3 games out of getting out of the Play-In Tournament cesspool. They have more to play for right now.

Take the value with WARRIORS +165.

Against the spread

The Mavs have won 2 of 3 against the Dubs, and the status of Kuminga is a big deal. So while we’re taking the value on the ML, I don’t think it’s wise to double up with the spread. While Dallas is 8-2 straight up over the last 10, they’re 8-2 ATS as well.

This may seem preposterous, but I’m taking STEPHEN CURRY UNDER 4.5 3-POINTERS (-155). This is his 7th game in 10 days, and in those 6 games, he hit 5+ 3’s once. He went 3-for-5 against Dallas 3 days ago. He’s just not chucking them like he usually does.

Over/Under

Dallas is 2-8 O/U over the last 10, and Golden State is 5-5. The Over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings, but the Under has hit in both matchups this year.

That’s where we’re going here. The totals were 231.5 and 233, and the finals didn’t come close. Take the UNDER 225.5 (-110).

Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Golden State Warriors (37-36) visit the Dallas Mavericks (36-36) Wednesday in a pivotal matchup in the Western Conference playoff race. Tip-off from American Airlines Center is at 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Warriors vs. Mavericks nickname odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Warriors snapped a 3-game losing skid with a 121-108 victory against the Houston Rockets as 11.5-point road favorites Monday. They’re just 4-6 in their last 10 games and have slipped to the 6th seed in the Western Conference, only a half-game clear of the Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Mavericks are 2-2 in their last 4 games as they have been without PG Luka Doncic as he recovers from a thigh injury. They are 2-1-1 against the spread in that stretch and there’s a chance they could get their star back Wednesday, which would provide a huge boost. Dallas is 4-6 in its last 10 games and is tied with the Thunder for the 7th seed in the conference.

Warriors at Mavericks picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 118, Mavericks 113

Moneyline

There’s a lot that’s still to be determined with this matchup when it comes to injuries, particularly concerning the statuses of Doncic and Irving. If they’re both ruled out, the spread and money line will shift further in the Warriors’ favor. If they play, it’ll be even closer to a pick ’em game.

Regardless, I like the Warriors in this matchup. They got back on track Monday against the Rockets, albeit in a much easier matchup than they’ll face tonight. BET WARRIORS (-130) to win outright.

Against the spread

The Mavericks have been terrible against the spread this season, going 27-42-3 ATS. They’re 4-5-1 ATS in their last 10 games which is a half-game better than the Warriors’ record in that same span.

The Warriors are 10-7 ATS as 1-4.5 point favorites, according to Covers.com, so they do a good job covering close games as favorites.

BET WARRIORS -2.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The Under is 2-1 in the Warriors’ last 3 games and 5-1 in the Mavericks’ last 6. The total is still set fairly high despite the uncertainty about Doncic and Irving, which is why I like the Under tonight in a road game for the Warriors.

The Under is 5-1-1 in the Warriors’ last 7 games after they covered the spread. BET UNDER 235.5 (-115).

Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Golden State Warriors (11-10) and Dallas Mavericks (9-10) meet Tuesday at American Airlines Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Warriors vs. Mavericks odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Warriors covered the spread as 1.5-point favorites in a 137-114 win at the Minnesota Timberwolves Sunday. G Stephen Curry finished with a team-high 25 points and game-high 11 rebounds as Golden State covered as a road favorite for the 1st time this season.

The Warriors are 2-5 straight up as road favorites.

The Mavericks failed to cover as 6-point underdogs in a 124-115 loss at the Milwaukee Bucks Sunday. Dallas has lost 5 of its last 6 games and is 1-13-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last 15 games.

The Mavericks are 7-3 ATS vs. the Warriors in their last 10 meetings in Dallas.

Warriors at Mavericks picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 129, Mavericks 110

Moneyline

PASS.

I expect the Warriors (-120) to win, but there is no need to pay the extra 10 cents on the ML when Golden State should win by margin. Bet the spread or the total instead.

Against the spread

BET WARRIORS -1.5 (-110).

The Mavericks will eventually stop being overvalued by the market and start to cover spreads, but they’re running into the Warriors at the wrong time. The Warriors are averaging 129.3 points in their last 4 games when Curry starts and are 2-0 straight up in their last 2 road games. Lay the points.

Over/Under

BET OVER 227.5 (-110).

The Warriors are the 2nd-highest scoring team in the league over the last 3 games, averaging 130.0 points per contest. The Over is 4-0 in the last 4 games that Curry has started, and I expect this trend to continue Tuesday in Dallas where the Over is 9-2 in the last 11 head-to-head meetings.

Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks Game 4 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks Game 4 odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Golden State Warriors take a 3-0 series in lead into Game 4 against the Dallas Mavericks Tuesday as they attempt to close out the series sweep in the Western Conference Finals on the road. Tip-off from American Airlines Arena is set for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Warriors vs. Mavericks Game 4 odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Warriors blew out the Mavs 112-87 in Game 1. Dallas bounced back with a 72-point first half in Game 2 but Golden State rallied from a 19-point deficit to win 126-117 and secure both home games.

Mavericks G Luka Doncic scored 40 points at home in Game 3 — his second straight 40-point game — but the Warriors, led by G Stephen Curry‘s 31 points and F Andrew Wiggins‘ playoff career-high 27 points, led after every quarter and moved within a game of making it to the NBA Finals with a 109-100 win.

Warriors at Mavericks picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 110, Mavericks 102

Money line

When the Mavericks couldn’t muster a lead at the end of any quarter in a game in which they needed a win the most to avoid a 3-0 deficit. No team in NBA history has ever overcome trailing 3-0 in a series.

The Warriors have only 3 total losses since the start of April, a span of 19 games. They are 3-3 on the road in the playoffs.

Doncic has been spectacular the last 2 games but hasn’t gotten any help.

The Warriors just have too much firepower and too convincing a lead in the series.

Take the WARRIORS (-103) to close out the series.

Against the spread

The Mavericks are 3-1 ATS this postseason when favored. This will be just the second time this postseason the Warriors have been the underdog. They were the underdog in Game 3 when they picked up a 109-100 win, and they were 11-8 ATS in the regular season as underdogs.

The Mavericks are 32-19-2 ATS this season as the favorite.

Take the WARRIORS +1.5 (-115).

Over/Under

Games 1 and 3 both stayed Under the projected total and Game 2 his the Over. The Mavericks have been held to 100 or fewer points twice in this series.

The Warriors have held their opponent to 100 or fewer points in 3 of their last 4 games.

Take UNDER 215.5 (-110).

Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks Game 3 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks Game 3 odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Golden State Warriors take a 2-0 series lead on the road Sunday to face the Dallas Mavericks in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals. Tip-off from American Airlines Center is 9 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we look at the Warriors vs. Mavericks odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Warriors won Game 1 of the series 112-87 in dominating fashion, outscoring the Mavericks by 10 points in the 1st quarter and never looking back. They held Mavericks G Luka Doncic to only 20 points on 6-for-18 shooting, including 3-for-10 from 3-point range. G Stephen Curry had 21 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

The Warriors picked up a 126-117 victory in Game 2 despite that the Mavericks scored 72 1st-half points and Doncic scored 42 for the game, including 18 in the 1st quarter. However, the Warriors, after trailing by as much as 19, held Dallas to 13 3rd-quarter points and then scored 43 in the final frame to pick up the victory and move within 2 wins of a trip to the NBA Finals.

Warriors at Mavericks picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 118, Mavericks 114

Money line

The Mavericks fell behind 2-0 in their series against the Phoenix Suns and bounced back with a 103-94 home win in Game 3. Their losses to the Suns in the first 2 games of that series were by 7 and 20 points. These losses to the Warriors were by 25 and 9 points.

However, the Warriors have only 3 total losses since the start of April, a span of 18 games. They are 2-3 on the road in the playoffs.

After rallying back in the second half of Game 2, it looks like the Warriors are ready to go in for the kill.

Take the WARRIORS (+122).

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

The Mavericks are 3-0 ATS this postseason when favored. This will be the first time this postseason the Warriors have been the underdog. They were 11-8 ATS in the regular season as underdogs.

The Mavericks are 32-18-2 ATS this season as the favorite.

I’m taking the WARRIORS +2.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The first game of the series had only 199 points and the second finished with 243. Two of their 4 regular-season matchups had higher totals than tonight’s projected total and 2 had lower totals.

The Warriors have scored at least 110 points in 3 straight games and have done so 9 times in the postseason.

As this game is Dallas’ last real chance to get back into the series, I expect both teams to push the ball and score points.

Take OVER 218.5 (-112).

Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Dallas Mavericks (37-25) host the Golden State Warriors (43-19) for these teams’ second meeting in the last five days. Tip-off at American Airlines Center is set for 8:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Warriors vs. Mavericks odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Mavs rallied back from a double-digit deficit to stun the Warriors 107-101 in Golden State Sunday by outscoring them 33-13 in the fourth quarter. Dallas is 2-1 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) versus Golden State this season.

The Mavs are 2-1 SU and 2-0-1 ATS since the All-Star break with their latest game being a 109-104 road victory over the Lakers Tuesday.

The Warriors are 1-2 SU and ATS following the All-Star Game and got crushed 129-114 by the Timberwolves Tuesday in Minnesota. Golden State SG Klay Thompson has missed the past two games, both Warriors losses.

Warriors at Mavericks odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 114, Mavericks 108

Money line

I’ll fade the alleged early sharp line move towards the Mavericks and SPRINKLE on the WARRIORS (+105).

Dallas opened up as +110 underdogs (according to Pregame.com) and has been steamed up to a favorite despite no new information. The only new intel the market has is the possible return of Thompson.

My takeaway from this initial line movement is the public and even wiseguys are overreacting to the Mavs’ stunning upset of the Warriors in Golden State this past weekend.

However, the Warriors held a 21-point lead during that game and thumped the Mavs 130-92 in their previous meeting, Jan. 25. If Golden State doesn’t pee down its leg, the Warriors handle business against the Mavs.

Dallas also might have pulled out a close game with Golden State the other night, but the Mavs are 28th in “clutch” net rating in the NBA at minus-19.9 while the Warriors are eighth in “clutch” net rating at plus-8.8. “Clutch” is defined by games within a 5-point margin inside of five minutes to play.

Golden State’s spread is the sharper play but I like the value of the WARRIORS (+105).

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

The WARRIORS +1.5 (-108) is my favorite wager here because I could see this game coming down to the final possessions and maybe the 1.5 points worth of insurance pays off.

Furthermore, there’s a “Pros vs. Joes scenario in the betting market as a slight majority of the cash is on Golden State but nearly two-thirds of the bets placed are on Dallas, according to VegasInsider.com. Typically, it’s wise in sports betting to follow the money when it’s counter to the public.

For the record, the WARRIORS +1.5 (-108) is my best bet in this game.

Over/Under

PASS.

I “lean” towards the Over 219.5 (-108) because the Warriors-Mavericks are 11-4 O/U in their last 15 meetings.

However, I don’t have a strong enough conviction on the Over and all three of the referees in this crew has officiated more to the Under.

Dallas is also 5-15-1 O/U as a home favorite and these teams have a combined 21-34 O/U record versus teams with a winning record.

Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Golden State Warriors (29-7) roll into American Airlines Center Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip-off with the Dallas Mavericks (19-18). Below, we look at the Warriors vs. Mavericks odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Golden State has won back-to-back games at the Utah Jazz 123-116 on New Year’s Day and versus the Miami Heat 115-108 Monday.

The Warriors are 4-1 straight-up (SU), 3-2 ATS and 4-1 O/U over the past two weeks with the eighth-best adjusted net rating at plus-5.8 points per 100 possessions, according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

Dallas has won three straight at the Sacramento Kings 112-96 Friday, at the Oklahoma City Thunder 95-88 Sunday and the Denver Nuggets 103-89 Monday.

The Mavs are 4-3 SU, 4-3 ATS and 2-5 O/U in the last 14 days with the second-best adjusted net rating at plus-10.2 points per 100 possessions, per CTG.

The Mavs have won six of their last seven meetings with the Warriors and have covered eight of the last 10.

Warriors at Mavericks odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 117, Mavericks 114

Money line

PASS with a heavy “lean” towards the Mavericks (+175) since I’m taking the points with Dallas and generally will sprinkle on an underdog’s money line when betting them to cover the spread.

However, it’s tough fading the almighty Warriors, especially because Dallas has been crushed versus quality competition this season.

The Mavs are 1-9 SU against teams in the top-10 of efficiency differential with the 24th-ranked adjusted net rating at minus-9.0 points per 100 possessions and the 20th-ranked ATS margin, per CTG.

Against the spread

BET the MAVERICKS +5.5 (-110) for 1 unit because they’ve performed really well against the Warriors since drafting G Luka Doncic.

As mentioned previously, since 2018-19 (Luka’s rookie season), Dallas is 7-3 SU and 8-2 ATS versus Golden State.

Luka is averaging 28.6 points per game on 64.5% true shooting (.485/.451/.753), 7.8 rebounds per game and 7.7 assists per game with a plus-13 net rating in 10-career games versus the Warriors.

The total of Warriors-Mavericks is also suspiciously low, which suggests the oddsmakers think this will be a rock-fight.

This Warriors-Mavericks total (214.5) is 10 points less than the previous four meetings. If the sportsbooks are projecting a lower-scoring affair then that nudges me towards a 5.5-point underdog.

Especially a Mavs team that’s played very well against the Warriors in recent years. Dallas has scored at least 124 points in six of the past seven meetings with Golden State.

BET the MAVERICKS +5.5 (-110).

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the OVER 214.5 (-108) because the total has been steamed up from the 212.5-point opener, which suggests the Over is the sharp play.

More importantly, the Over has cashed in 10 of the last 12 Warriors-Mavericks meetings and Golden State has gone Over the total in five of their last six games.

That said, the reason I only “LEAN” to the OVER 214.5 (-108) is that, again, it’s suspiciously low. It’s almost like Vegas is begging you to take the Over here.

Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Golden State Warriors at Dallas Mavericks NBA betting odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Dallas Mavericks (9-14) play host to the Golden State Warriors (12-10) for a second consecutive game Saturday at American Airlines Center. The tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Warriors-Mavericks NBA odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Golden State dominated Dallas in a 147-116 win Thursday, which is the most points the Warriors have scored in a game this season. The Warriors didn’t have an active player taller than 6-foot-7 yet they outscored the Mavs 54-36 in the paint and out-rebounded them 45-42. They’ve been up and down recently, going 4-2 straight up and against the spread over their previous six games.

The Mavs have been the most disappointing team in the NBA to start the season and are 14th in the Western Conference standings. Dallas has lost seven of its last eight games (1-7 ATS) and it’s playing the worst defense in the Association over that span.

Warriors at Mavericks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Warriors 120, Mavericks 116

Money line (ML)

This Dallas thing stinks and we’re getting to the point in the year when it’s fair to wonder if the Mavs are in for a bad season. While Mavericks PG Luka Doncic has a bright future, I’m a firm believer superstars who get the majority of the praise also deserve the lion’s share of the blame when their team plays like trash.

Luka has the second-highest usage rate in the league, is shooting below 30% from behind the arc, and frequently complains when he doesn’t get a foul call (which is short-sighted considering he’s attempted the fourth-most free throws in the league) leading to lapses in defense.

Practically speaking, a Dallas team that had record-setting offensive efficiency last season should feast on a Golden State team that has zero bigs but the Mavs are 25th in percentage of attempts at the rim (according to CleaningtheGlass.com), are 11th in 3-point attempts per game, and are the worst 3-point shooting team in the league.

Based on their current form, the Mavs are a team to fade at the moment so I lean WARRIORS (+145) for a tiny wager.

Against the spread (ATS)

Again, Dallas should beat the brakes off of Golden State so taking the points with the WARRIORS +4.5 (-120) is the way better wager in this spot.

Truth be told, I probably won’t bet either the money line or spread too heavily because it’s difficult to fathom how a team without any bigs can rout a team like Golden State did with Dallas the other night.

I lean WARRIORS +4.5 (-120) for a half-unit.

Over/Under (O/U)

With no bigs, the Warriors shouldn’t be able to stop anyone and the Mavericks simply haven’t been able to this season; however, the market has overrated both offenses this season hence the combined 20-25 O/U record.

It’s too obvious to take the Over so I only lean OVER 231.5 (-115) for a half-unit.
