“We don’t ever want to miss Cooper,” Heupel said. “That’s a guy in the middle that’s playing a lot of football, and he’s a great leader for us inside of our program.

“Addison (Nichols) and Vysen (Lang) have to continue to grow and step up. There have been some really positive things from them in the first seven days and I’m excited to go back and watch the tape. We’re going to need those two guys to grow on the back half of spring ball.”

Tennessee adds another 4-star recruit with Vysen Lang commitment

Tennessee is getting close to cracking the top 10 in the 2023 recruiting cycle rankings.

Tennessee is getting close to cracking the top 10 in the 2023 recruiting cycle rankings. The Vols’ latest commitment has pushed them up to No. 11.

On Tuesday night, Pike Road (Ala.) offensive tackle Vysen Lang announced that he would play his college ball for Josh Heupel and the Vols. He had previously narrowed his finalist list to Auburn, LSU, Tennessee, and Texas.

Lang (6-foot-4, 335 pounds) has been playing left tackle but is expected to move inside to guard in college. Either way, he was one of the top remaining undecided offensive linemen in his class. Lang is ranked No. 51 among interior linemen in his class and No. 26 in the state, per 247 Sports.

Lang had visited Tennessee twice this season and came away impressed with how they treated their recruits, per Rivals.

“The fan base at Tennessee, they have the craziest, nicest fans in the world. During the games, they’re all crazy and hyped and outside the game they’re all coming up to me and saying, ‘Hi, welcome to Knoxville,’ and being really nice. I connect with players in the locker room and Coach (Josh) Heupel, (Alex) Golesh, and (Glen) Elarbee are family oriented coaches that treat their players like family.”

Tennessee now has 12 four-star recruits in its 2023 class. Their gem is five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava, the third-ranked QB in the nation.

Vysen Lang commits to Tennessee

2023 prospect Vysen Lang commits to Tennessee.

Second-year head coach Josh Heupel and his staff continue to recruit future Vols.

Tennessee received a commitment for its 2023 class Tuesday. Vysen Lang announced his commitment to the Vols.

“Rocky Top, I’m coming home,” Lang announced.

He committed to Tennessee over Auburn, LSU and Texas.

The 6-foot-4, 335-pound offensive lineman is from Pike Road High School in Pike Road, Alabama.

Tennessee offered the 2023 prospect on Feb. 20. Lang officially visited Tennessee on Sept. 23.

Heupel guided the Vols to a 7-6 record and an appearance in the Music City Bowl versus Purdue in 2021. In 2022, Heupel and the Vols started the campaign 8-0 and ranked No. 1 in the College Football Playoff top 25 rankings.

Three-star offensive lineman includes LSU in top 4

The Tigers could add another offensive lineman to the 2023 class in Vysen Lang.

[autotag]Vysen Lang[/autotag] is a 6-foot-4, 335-pound, offensive lineman from Pike Road, Alabama, where he plays for the Pike Road Patriots.

Lang is scheduled to announce his commitment next week and has narrowed his list down to only four schools, Auburn, LSU, Texas, and Tennessee. The Tennessee Volunteers have been the favorite for a while for Lang and they received a crystal ball prediction for him after beating the Crimson Tide in Knoxville.

LSU has been in the mix the whole time so it would be no surprise if [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] was able to sway him to Baton Rouge. Auburn just fired its head coach, which could hurt its chances, though Texas is a real possibility as well.

The Patriots moved up to Class 6A this season after winning the 5A state championship game last year over Plesant Grove. They finished the regular season 6-4 and as the No. 2 seed in their region so they will host their first-round playoff game against Spanish Fort.

Auburn makes top 4 for local offensive lineman

Vysen Lang will be committing on Nov. 8.

Auburn offensive line target [autotag]Vysen Lang[/autotag] will be deciding between four schools when he makes his commitment on Nov. 8.

The 6-foot-4, 325-pound offensive tackle is from nearby Pike Road, Alabama, and will be deciding between Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, and Texas.

He is ranked as the No. 690 overall player and No. 58 offensive tackle in the 247Sports Composite ranking. He is also the No. 26 player from Alabama.

While he has not taken an official visit to Auburn, he has unofficially visited multiple times and would be a major get for Auburn. The Tigers lost the commitment of three-star offensive lineman Gernorris Wilson on Monday, he is the first since Auburn fired Bryan Harsin earlier Monday morning.

It will be tough for Auburn to land Lang though, the Tennessee Volunteers have received three Crystal Ball predictions to land him and are the only school he officially visited.

Georgia football makes SEC-filled top-six for 2023 OT

Dawgs included in top-six for 2023 OT

2023 3-star offensive tackle Vysen Lang (Pike Road, Alabama) has released a top-six that includes the Georgia Bulldogs.

Also included in Lang’s top schools are the Auburn Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers, Arkansas Razorbacks, LSU Tigers, and Texas Longhorns.

Lang, at 6-foot-5 and 330 pounds, hails from Pike Road, Alabama. He ranks as the nation’s No. 576 overall player, No. 47 ranked offensive tackle, and No. 25 ranked player in Alabama.

Alabama 2023 offensive tackle prospect lists Tigers among top 6

Pike Road (Al.) offensive tackle Vysen Lang included LSU as hee trimmed his list from 10 to six teams.

LSU’s 2023 recruiting class — which currently ranks seventh in the nation — is starting to take place. But if you look up and down the list of the 15 players committed to play for coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] and the Tigers, you may notice one glaring omission: The class lacks an offensive line commit.

The staff will likely try to rectify that as we start to enter the home stretch of the 2023 cycle, and there could be one player specifically that LSU tries to get on board.

Three-star Pike Road (Al.) offensive tackle [autotag]Vysen Lang[/autotag] has gotten some attention from LSU heading into his senior season. The 6-foot-5, 330-pound player picked up an offer from the Tigers on March 21 while on an unofficial visit and included them in the top 10 he released in April.

On Tuesday, he trimmed that list even further to six teams. Still in the race for Lang are Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas, LSU, Texas and Georgia.

Lang is the No. 576 player in the country, per the 247Sports Composite, and he ranks as the No. 47 offensive tackle while cracking the top 25 in the state of Alabama. In-state Auburn could be a player here, but it seems LSU’s primary competition will be the Razorbacks.

Arkansas hosted Lang for an unofficial visit last month and will welcome him back to campus for an official visit on Sept. 30. Coach Sam Pittman’s team is considered the favorite, holding two Crystal Ball predictions on 247Sports. Auburn leads the way on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine at 31.7%, however.

In addition to the Razorbacks and LSU, he’s taken unofficial visits to Texas, Auburn, Tennessee and Texas A&M this spring.

It’s critical that the Tigers land offensive line talent to develop over the next few seasons, and while they would like to sign at least one blue-chip prospect this cycle, Lang is a player who is being heavily recruited by several top programs and would be a nice addition to Kelly’s bump class.

Lang is yet to set a timetable for his decision, and considering he’s scheduling in-season official visits for this fall, it’s unlikely he plans to do so any time soon.
