Louisville QB fakes out entire stadium with 44-yard touchdown run on 4th down keeper

A real roller coaster of emotions for the fans in Charlottesville.

It’s not often an entire stadium gets faked out, but that’s exactly what Louisville did in Charlottesville on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals, who are without starting quarterback Malik Cunningham due to an injury, were struggling to gain any ground on the Virginia Cavaliers in the first half of an ACC matchup.

Facing 4th-and-2 on the Virginia 44-yard line, Louisville decided to go for it down 10-3. Everyone in Scott Stadium cheered as it looked the Cavalier defense brought the runner down well short of the line to gain, all while backup QB Brock Domann scampered untouched 44 yards for the touchdown and the tie.

Louisville, which trailed 10-0 after one quarter, took a 13-10 lead behind Domann’s long run and the Cards’ 216 yards of total offense in the second quarter.

UNC football vs. Virginia Tech betting odds

The UNC football program are 9-point favorite heading into the week five showdown with Virginia Tech.

The (3-1) North Carolina Tar Heels will host (2-2) Virginia Tech this Saturday at 3:30 P.M. ET.

UNC is currently -9 point favorites to win the clash in the Atlantic Coast Conference showdown, crediting Drake Maye-led offense on the reasoning why. North Carolina is coming off their first season loss, losing 45-32 last weekend to Notre Dame.

The Hokies are also coming off a loss of their own, as West Virginia got the better of them last weekend 33-10. Now, we not only get to see how UNC respond to their first loss of the season, but we also get to see them do it against a team that is as hungry to get it together.

This match is vital for UNC and their ACC championship hopes. To keep it simple, UNC needs to win this game and make a statement by playing both sides of the ball. After the defeat to Notre Dame, the road to a playoff trip may be blocked, but the path to a potential ACC championship game is still available. They have to take care of business moving forward with top teams like Wake Forest and NC State still on their schedule.

5 things to watch for in UNC football vs Virginia Tech matchup

As North Carolina set to host Virginia Tech, we take a look at a few key things you should know before you watch.

The 3-1 North Carolina Tar Heels will host the 2-2 Virginia Tech Hokies this weekend as Atlantic Coast Conference play begins for Mack Brown’s team.

UNC is coming into this ACC showdown with pressure to bounce back after receiving their first loss on the season. Their 45-32 defeat to Notre Dame was heartbreaking as North Carolina’s momentum to cracking the Associated Press top 25 got put on hold.

Notre Dame completely dominated UNC’s defense and it showed especially in that second half. Meanwhile, their offense struggled to keep up. North Carolina allowed 287 rushing yards and 289 passing yards with six total touchdowns.

The nightmare game showcased UNC’s most significant weakness, highlighting gaps in the defense.

Now, UNC will look to fix those defensive struggles against Virginia Tech to get their season back on track. A must-win game for North Carolina to restart their climb into the top 25 and give them confidence for their game against the Miami Hurricanes.

We had a less than spectacular night last night despite the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers winning us money over the Georgia State Panthers, the Virginia Tech Hokies let us down in a big way against the West Virginia Mountaineers. I suppose we should take that loss as a lesson that Metalica + Lane Stadium = not very intimidating. With another day, we have another slate, so let’s dive into what Friday has to offer.
