WATCH: Justin Fields finds Robert Tonyan for one-handed touchdown at Bears minicamp

The Bears wrapped up their mandatory minicamp on Thursday, but gave fans a parting gift as they left Halas Hall.

The Chicago Bears wrapped up their mandatory minicamp on Thursday, but gave fans a parting gift as they left Halas Hall. Following the final practice, the Bears posted video of a highlight that took place featuring quarterback Justin Fields and tight end Robert Tonyan.

The highlight was a dart thrown by Fields to Tonyan in the end zone, who made a one-handed grab to secure the touchdown. The ball was thrown just over linebacker T.J. Edwards’ hand and Tonyan was covered by safety Elijah Hicks.

The talk of the offseason has been the Bears’ addition of wide receiver D.J. Moore, but Tonyan is another new face in this offense and Fields is finding ways to get him the ball. Tonyan signed a one-year deal in free agency back in March after spending the last six seasons with the Green Bay Packers. Playing alongside Cole Kmet, Tonyan should see plenty of opportunities as a complimentary player in the offense.

This highlight might be the last one fans see for a while as the team is off until training camp later next month, but it has many of them pumped for what’s to come.

WATCH: Highlights of new Bears EDGE Trevis Gipson

The Bears might’ve found a late-round gem with EDGE Trevis Gipson. Let’s take a look at what the Bears are getting with Gipson.

The Chicago Bears might’ve found another late-round gem when they drafted Tulsa pass rusher Trevis Gipson with the 155th overall pick. They certainly believe so, as evidenced by general manager Ryan Pace trading a 2021 fourth-round pick to the Minnesota Vikings for an additional fifth-rounder, which was used to take Gipson.

Gipson, a two-year starter, was a force in the All-American Athletic Conference. In his first year as a starter in 2018, Gipson tallied 46 tackles, 9 tackles for loss and 4 sacks. He followed that up in 2019 with 15 tackles for loss and 8 sacks, which earned him first-team All-American Athletic Conference honors. He had eight forced fumbles at Tulsa in his career.

Gipson’s upside is huge. He has all of the physical tools to possibly become a starter for the Bears in the future. And he’ll get a chance to learn from the best in Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn.

Let’s take a look at what the Bears are getting with Gipson:

WATCH: Highlights of new Bears WR Darnell Mooney

Chicago found their speedy receiver in Tulane’s Darnell Mooney. Take a look at what the Bears are getting in Mooney.

The one thing that was missing from the Chicago Bears’ offense last season was speed. And general manager Ryan Pace believes that he’s found the guy that’s going to give them just that.

The Bears got a potential steal in Tulane receiver Darnell Mooney in the fifth round with the 173rd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. They traded up to snag him in the fifth round, believing that he could be a big contributor to this offense.

Mooney led the Tulane with 48 catches for 713 yards and five touchdowns last season, which is the kind of production that the Bears would certainly love.

Chicago found their speedy receiver in Mooney, who ran a 4.38 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine, which he insists could be even better. He’s an explosive player that wracks up yards after the catch.

WATCH: Highlights of new Bears CB Jaylon Johnson

The Chicago Bears strengthened their secondary with the addition of Utah cornerback Jaylon Johnson with the 50th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Following the release of cap-casualty Prince Amukamara, the Bears were in search of a starting right corner to fill an important hole in the defensive backfield.

Chicago perhaps got an immediate starter in Johnson, who was an absolute steal in the second round for general manager Ryan Pace. The Bears appear to have found the running mate for Pro Bowler Kyle Fuller, which should make Chicago’s defense even more formidable.

Johnson is a first-round talent that slipped — not because of his talent, but because of injury concerns following offseason shoulder surgery. But make no mistake about it, Johnson is a physical, athletic cornerback that will challenge receivers.

WATCH: Highlights of new Bears TE Cole Kmet

Take a look at what the Chicago Bears are getting in their new tight end Cole Kmet.

The Chicago Bears welcomed their newest tight end Cole Kmet with the 43rd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Kmet joins a tight end group that was collectively the worst in the NFL last season, tallying a combined 36 receptions, 416 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

While there was some question about Chicago drafting a tight end as high as the second round, you can’t deny that the Bears selected the best tight end in this draft class.

Kmet presents as the most NFL-ready tight end, and he excels both as a blocker and a pass catcher, something that Matt Nagy has been looking for in a tight end in this offense.
