New Uniforms for Notre Dame Football in 2024?

What do you think about them if this is true?

One of the biggest off the field stories this college football off-season has been the return of the EA Sports’ NCAA Football video game.

The game is set to return for the first time in a decade with a launch date of July 19.  On Friday, EA Sports released the official trailer for the game and a very short moment in it has Notre Dame fans buzzing.

Sure, the graphics are beyond ridiculous and their attention to detail appears to be nothing short of insane.  However, it’s a small tweak to Notre Dame’s home uniform that fans noticed and gained much attention.

If you take a close look, you’ll notice an Under Armour logo at the neck and the interlocking ND on the shoulder is gold instead of white like it has been since it returned to the uniform in 2010.  Check out former Notre Dame tight end [autotag]Brock Wright[/autotag] in 2020 below for reference.

Will those be the home uniforms the Irish wear in 2024, will they be some kind of alternate with the 100th anniversary of the “Four Horsemen” game taking place at Yankee Stadium against Army this November?

Time will tell but certainly something to keep an eye on.

Jalen Milroe has ‘top-end speed’ in EA Sports College Football 25 video game

Will you be playing as Jalen Milroe and Alabama in the EA Sports College Football 25 video game?

On July 19, 2024, fans of all ages from all across the nation will be glued to their gaming consoles as the decade-long hiatus of the EA Sports College Football franchise comes to an end. Alabama Crimson Tide football fans can look forward to playing as their favorite players and leading the Tide to the College Football Playoffs and winning it all.

However, Alabama fans won’t be alone in using Crimson Tide players, especially star quarterback Jalen Milroe.

According to popular YouTube content creator Eric Ray, who has plenty of gameplay on EA Sports’ other football-oriented video game, “Madden,” Milroe may be the quarterback of choice for a lot of future players of EA Sports College Football 25.

Ray had an opportunity to play the upcoming and highly-anticipated video game and took to YouTube to share his thoughts on the game. When it came to Milroe, he talked about why his character in the game may be one of the best at the quarterback position.

“Jalen Milroe from Alabama, when I was playing with them, and I would take off running with Milroe, you feel that top-end speed,” states Ray. “If you’re not a good user, you really feel the power of somebody like a Jalen Milroe because he’s that much harder to tackle than a lesser guy because he’s just so quick and so shifty.”

The wait is almost over for fans who are eager to play the game and Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Alabama football news as it relates to the EA Sports College Football video game.

ESPN releases hypothetical NCAA video game covers for 11 years missed by the game’s hiatus

Which former Alabama player missed out on being the cover of NCAA Football because of the game’s hiatus?

The long-awaited EA Sports College Football 2025 video game is set to be released on July 19, and with some of the teaser trailers coming out, the anticipation is at an all-time high. The game notoriously had to take a hiatus due to athletes not being paid, but with name, image, likeness policy, the game is finally back. It was already one of the most popular sports video games of all time, but with over a decade away, the excitement is palpable.

We already know that the three cover athletes for this year’s video game will be Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers, Michigan Wolverines running back Donovan Edwards and Colorado Buffaloes  versatile wide receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter. Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe will appear on the deluxe cover if you’re willing to pay a little more.

With all of the buzz around the new game and cover, ESPN picked cover stars for the 11 years the game was on hiatus. They voted former Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa as the cover athlete of NCAA Football 19 which would have been released in Summer 2018. Some of the other contenders that year were Stanford’s RB Bryce Love, Houston’s DE Ed Oliver and Wisconsin Badgers RB Jonathan Taylor.

ESPN’s David Hale said of the cover selection,

“As much fun as it would’ve been to see the Clemson Tigers D-linemen don their famous Power Rangers costumes on the game’s cover, the buzz in the summer of 2018 was all about Tagovailoa. He’d come off the bench at halftime to rescue Alabama from the abyss in the national championship game, making him a rare combination of genuine star power and unknown commodity. The only problem with the choice is the reaction it would’ve undoubtedly engendered from Nick Saban, who wasn’t entirely eager to stoke the flames of the supposed QB battle between Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts that summer. Of course, if NIL rules were in place in 2018, does anyone think Hurts would’ve stuck around to ride the bench anyway?”

Other winners included: Florida State Seminoles WR Rashad Greene (2015), Ohio State Buckeyes DE Joey Bosa (2016), Stanford RB Christian McCaffery (2017), Louisville QB Lamar Jackson (2018), Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence (2020), LSU Tigers CB Derek Stingley (2021), Clemson QB DJ Uiagalelei (2022), Georgia Bulldogs TE Brock Bowers (2023), USC Trojans QB Caleb Williams (2024).

Wisconsin football well-represented in new EA Sports College Football 25 release trailer

Wisconsin is still considered one of the top programs in the sport:

Wisconsin football is well-represented in the freshly released EA Sports College Football 25 video game trailer.

The trailer dropped on Friday morning and immediately gripped the college football world. Fans of the sport have waited more than a decade for the game’s release, and now are only two months away from the official date.

Friday’s trailer featured scenes from the top programs and locations in the sport. It emphasizes Clemson’s rock and subsequent hill-run, Notre Dame’s famous locker room sign, Boston College’s eagle, Florida’s gator, Texas A&M’s 12th man, Iowa’s wave and, of course, Wisconsin winning Paul Bunyan’s Axe. Rightfully so, it emphasizes college football’s unique attributes — attributes that are what makes the sport special.

Wisconsin fans quickly pointed out on social media that the trailer includes the Badgers celebrating with the axe, and completely omits Minnesota.

In total, Wisconsin was seen across the brief video. There are appearances from players including Hunter Wohler, Leon Lowery, Darryl Peterson, Jaheim Thomas and James Thompson Jr. Then a predictable cameo from Bucky Badger.

Wisconsin may have struggled to 7-6 records in each of the last two seasons. But EA Sports clearly still sees it is as one of the premier programs in the sport. It couldn’t accurately tell the story of the game, and therefore the product of college football, without the Badgers:

EA Sports reveals release date, cover athletes for College Football 25

EA Sports announces July 19 release date for College Football 25, and reveals three football stars who will grace the cover.

Over ten years after the release of NCAA Football 14, EA Sports revealed on Thursday the date for College Football 25 to finally come out and mark the return of video games for college athletics.

EA announced a July 19 release date for the highly anticipated game, and revealed a trio of college football stars will be on the cover of the game’s standard edition: Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, Colorado dual threat Travis Hunter, and Michigan running back Donovan Edwards.

“Donovan, Quinn and Travis are extraordinary talents who impressed and entertained millions of college football fans on the field last season and are poised to do so again this year,” EA Sports SVP and Group GM Daryl Holt, said in a statement. “We’re proud to be able to incorporate thousands of current athletes in College Football 25, and featuring this trio of playmakers and their iconic college programs on the cover is a perfect fit as we usher in a new era for EA SPORTS and college football.”

EA Sports’ college games were discontinued after the release of NCAA Football 14 following Ed O’Bannon’s lawsuit against the NCAA. The emergence of NIL now allows student-athletes to profit off their likeness in video games, which opened the door for the franchise to return under a new name.

More information will be revealed about the new game on May 17, and after an 11-year wait fans now only have two more months until college football is back at EA Sports.

The release of College Football ’25 will be more than 10 years in the making for fans of the video game franchise. The last edition was released in 2013, with production halted due to the NCAA’s amateurism rules.

Those rules are obviously now all things of the past. Fans have since been waiting years for the video game to finally return. That answer came on May 16: it will be back in just over two months.

EA Sports also noted a full reveal of the game will come on May 17.

Report: Arch Manning opts out of ‘EA Sports College Football 25’

EA Sports is bringing back their popular college football video game, but Arch Manning opted out. Athletes are paid $600 to be in the game.

EA Sports is set to release a college football video game this summer for the first time since 2013, and the game will feature real players.

Peyton Manning’s nephew, Arch Manning (a sophomore at Texas), has decided to opt out of the game, according to a report from
Anwar Richardson of Orangebloods.com.

Earlier this week, EA Sports announced that more than 10,000 college football players have opted into being in the video game. Players who opt in receive $600 and a free copy of the game as part of EA’s name, image, and likeness deal with the student-athletes.

It’s a flat fee for every player and, so far, no known exceptions have been made. It’s possible that Manning might be holding out for a better offer, but that’s just speculation. EA surely does not want to set a precedent of negotiating individual deals with players to be featured in the game.

If Manning eventually becomes a college star, though, EA might change their mind. For now, No. 16 won’t be featured in the video game.

EA Sports College Football is Officially Coming Back!

It’sssss baaaackkkk!!!

We’ve waited a long while for the guarantee and we finally have it.

EA Sports has officially announced that they will release their first college football game in over a decade this July.  They made the announcement with a promotional video on social media on Thursday that you can see in full below.

As was reported a while back, the name changed from NCAA Football to College Football but plenty appears in store for fans of the sport and the game.

Personally, I haven’t played a video game in ages but am beyond excited to get saving to have my first system in roughly a decade in order to get with the times and get back on the sticks.

NCAA Football Video Game Returns: Notre Dame Players We Missed Out On

Which Notre Dame player would have been the best to play with?

College football has its own cult-like following that makes it truly unique compared to any other American sport.  Even in that group there are sub-groups that are even that much more passionate.

One of those groups includes anyone who was ever a fan of the NCAA Football video game by EA Sports.

Personally, I can’t begin to estimate the total hours spent as a high school student in my parents house playing that game, the amount of hours I invested in it during college, or the hours I spent in my early-20’s with it.

However, it went away after the NCAA Football ’13 edition, meaning we’ve gone a full decade (2014-2023 seasons) now without the game.

So which players in that time did we especially miss playing with if we would have been playing as Notre Dame?

Here are the 11 we missed out in video game form the most.

Former Alabama football player Madden 24 rankings: Safety

Overall, 76 former Alabama players are in the Madden 24 game. Here’s how the safeties rank.

EA Sports is scheduled to launch Madden 24 on Aug. 18, 2023. The game will feature 76 former Alabama football players. That might be the most players from a single college team in the entire game.

A lot of that has to do with what head coach Nick Saban has been able to do since joining the program in 2006. Saban has transcended the Crimson Tide into a college football powerhouse. In doing so, NFL organizations have noticed and begun to draft some of Alabama’s very own.

With all of the ratings finally revealed, Roll Tide Wire will be taking a look at every positional group that has Alabama players. Today, we feature the safeties.
