Seahawks to wear white jersey with blue pants in Week 2

Seahawks to wear white jersey with blue pants in Week 2

The Seattle Seahawks are set to face the New England Patriots tomorrow, and we know the most important bit of news of the weekend: what uniform the Seahawks will be wearing!

Alright, so maybe it is not the most important news, but for uniform combo junkies such as myself, it is still fun to know. For the first road game of the year, it is only fitting the Seahawks bust out their typical road uniform: white jerseys with the blue pants.

Overall, the Seattle Seahawks have earned a record of 28-21 all time when wearing this combination. Their 28 wins in this particular uniform is second only to the all-blue look, which has 65 wins. It makes sense, considering both are the standard threads for home and away games.

In 2023, the Seahawks recorded four wins in this combo, the second most wins in a single season behind only the 2019 campaign when Seattle had a record of 6-2.

The last time the Seahawks traveled to Foxboro, they wore this same combo in their 31-24 upset victory over the Patriots.

Last year, Seattle wore the white and blue combo at home for the first time ever to commemorate their 10-year anniversary of Super Bowl XLVIII, since they were the uniforms they wore in triumphant victory. I wondered if perhaps the Patriots might do something similar since they will be honoring their Super Bowl XLIX win over the Seahawks on Sunday, and they wore their white jerseys in that game.

But with this information about what Seattle is wearing, New England will most assuredly wear their blue jerseys… albeit with perhaps the return of their silver pants.

Seahawks wearing white tops, blue bottoms vs. Titans this week

On the year, Seattle is 2-2 in this combination.

The all-important uniform news has dropped: the Seattle Seahawks will be wearing their classic road uniforms against the Tennessee Titans this week. The white jersey and blue pants will once again be making their return.

On the year, Seattle is 2-2 in this combination. Unfortunately, they have lost their previous two in them. Road losses in Cincinnati and San Francisco have the Seahawks in a bit of a losing streak. But overall, Seattle has more success than not in this combo, going 26-21 all time in them.

The last time the Seahawks traveled to the Music City, they wore their cursed white jersey/gray pants combo. The game went about as well as you’d expect, falling 33-27 to the Titans in 2017. Thankfully, Seattle is shaking up the uniforms this time.

Of course, with the Seahawks wearing their navy pants, the color navy is likely to be on full display on Sunday… especially if Tennessee decides to wear their usual all-blue uniforms themselves.

Seahawks to wear All Navy for Monday Night Football

The Seahawks are 64-25 in these all time, and haven’t worn them since Week 1 of this year.

The Seattle Seahawks are gearing up for a crucial Monday Night Football to break their current four-game losing streak. It will be an uphill climb, especially since their opponents will be the reigning NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles.

But before we can discuss the game further, the most important bit of news has dropped: the uniform combination of the week. Seattle announced which threads they will be wearing in primetime, and it’s back to the basics for them: their regular all blue uniform.

Given the Seahawks’ dominance at home and proclivity to wearing these as their usual uniforms at Lumen, it’s no surprise Seattle has had the most success in these threads. The Seahawks are 64-25 all time in this combo.

Interestingly, Monday night will mark only the second time Seattle has worn the all blue combo this year. They wore these in the Week 1 opener, and have not returned since. Instead, their home games have featured the throwbacks, the Action Green, the regular away uniform, and the blue/gray combo twice.

With only one prior appearance, and soon to be two on the year, 2023 is unquestionably the season with the lowest amount of times the team has worn this combo. In fact, the next fewest times worn has only been five times in a season.

Personally, I think this is one of their strongest looks, and I have missed seeing them in action. I love how versatile the Seahawks uniforms are and how many combinations the team can rock. But there is something to be said about the (modern) classics.

Seahawks wearing action green for Thanksgiving game vs. 49ers

Rejoice, 12’s, because our eyes will be feasting on Thanksgiving. The Seattle Seahawks have announced they are going to wear their iconic all action green color rush uniforms for Thursday Night Football.

The Seahawks often save wearing the all action green combo for Thursday or Monday night games, so it was hardly a surprise announcement. Regardless of expectation, it is still a welcome news update.

Seattle started donning the all action green uniforms in the 2016 season. Not only is it one of their more popular and completely unique looks, it’s also one they’ve had tremendous success in.

All time, the Seahawks are 8-2 when wearing the green jerseys, and 5-1 when wearing the full green combo. The last time Seattle wore this combo was in Week 1 last year, when the Seahawks upset the Denver Broncos 17-16 in Russell Wilson’s return to the Emerald City.

They will need any bit of good vibes or mojo (or whatever you want to call it) these uniforms might bring. Seattle will be hosting the San Francisco 49ers, who defeated the Seahawks in a Thursday Night Game at Lumen Field last year. Seattle was wearing the green jerseys in that game, but with blue pants. If I had to wager a bet, I’d suppose the 49ers will be wearing their all white throwback uniforms for Thanksgiving.

We’ll see if the Seahawks can bounce back from their frustrating loss to the Los Angeles Rams this past Sunday. Seattle and San Francisco will kick off at 5:20 pm on NBC, just as all the turkey will be settling in everyone’s stomachs.

Seahawks looking to end two negative streaks on Sunday

Seahawks looking to end two negative streaks on Sunday

Part of the fun with sports is delving into all the superstitions fans might have about particular aspects, such as uniforms, unfavorable matchups, “lucky” garments or even “curses.”

Unfortunately for the Seattle Seahawks, they are staring at some potentially bad luck this weekend as they host the Washington Commanders. There are two unfortunate streaks Seattle will look to finally overcome. For those who are superstitious, this is right up your alley.

1 – The Seahawks have never beaten the Washington football franchise at Lumen Field during the regular season.

Hard as it may be to believe, this is one of those shockingly true facts. Since Lumen Field opened its doors in 2002 (known as Seahawks Stadium), the Seahawks are 0-4 all time against the Washington franchise. Their games have gone as follows:

  • 14-3 loss in 2002
  • 20-17 loss in 2008
  • 23-17 loss in 2011
  • 17-14 loss in 2017

In fairness to Seattle, they have won both playoff games when they hosted Washington. It will also be the first time the Seahawks have played this franchise at home under the moniker of the Commanders. Perhaps the bad luck was retired with the previous name. But it remains to be seen, as Seattle will be battling another superstition going against them:

2 – The Seahawks have never won two games in a single season wearing the blue jersey/gray pants uniform combo.

When it comes to uniforms, this is where I get the most superstitious. As you are likely aware, I keep a uniform record tracker for all combinations and I put it at the bottom of articles on this topic. Since 2021, this combo went from being sparingly used at away games to being in the regular rotation, primarily at home now.

But in both 2021 and 2022, the Seahawks split 1-1 when wearing these threads. The only other season Seattle has worn this combo more than once was in 2012, and you guessed it, they were 1-1.

The Seahawks have already worn the blue jerseys with the gray pants, and had success by defeating the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7. They will look to have more success by finally break this mediocre .500 streak with their first ever regular season home win over the Commanders on Sunday.

The Seattle Seahawks are back in Lumen Field, following their disastrous Week 9 performance in Baltimore. For a second straight home game, the Seahawks have decided to wear their blue jersey and gray pants uniform combination.

Seattle last wore these threads two weeks ago, when they hosted the Arizona Cardinals. It has become a more popular combination for fans, and the 12’s will once again get a chance to see them up close and personal.

With their win over the Cardinals in Week 8, the Seahawks improved to 6-6 all time when wearing these threads. However, it should be noted Seattle has never won two games in a single season with this combination.

The Seahawks will be trying to break two streaks on Sunday. One, their lack of multiple wins in this combo streak. Two, the fact they have never beat the Washington football franchise at Lumen Field during the regular season.

Seattle kicks off against the Commanders at 1:25 pm Pacific time this Sunday afternoon.

Seahawks to wear blue jersey/gray pants combo for Week 7

Seahawks to wear blue jersey/gray pants combo for Week 7

The all-important news of the week has dropped: the Seattle Seahawks will be wearing their blue jerseys with gray pants as their Week 7 uniform combination. It will be the first time in 2023 the Seahawks will be wearing one of their more popular combos.

Although this may be one of the more fan-favorite looks, Seattle has not been extraordinarily successful in these threads. They are sitting below .500 all time with a 5-6 record. Last year, the Seahawks wore this combo twice. Once in a 30-24 loss to the Panthers, and the other during their 23-6 win over the New York Jets.

The team announced this breaking news via their Twitter account.

Now, if you are overly obsessed with uniform records (and borderline superstitious) like I am, you are probably wondering “hey, wait a minute, I thought Seattle had to ditch their gray uniforms!” I was wondering the same thing. The team did have to retire the gray jerseys once they introduced the throwbacks, but according to John Boyle of Seahawks.com, the team was allowed to keep the gray pants.

Unfortunately, this means they can still wear the dreaded white jersey/gray pants combination, where Seattle is 3-9 all time. But we’re not going to focus on that right now. Instead, all attention will be spent on the Week 7 showdown against the surprisingly better-than-advertised Arizona Cardinals.

Current Seahawks record by uniform:

Seahawks to wear all white uniforms on MNF

The Seahawks are 7-9 all time wearing this combination, including going 1-1 last year.

The Seattle Seahawks will be under the bright lights in the Big Apple for Week 4, making their 2023 debut on Monday Night Football. The Seahawks will travel east to play the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium – the site of their triumph in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Seattle has opted to wear their all white uniform combination, a bit of a rarity for them. The Seahawks wore them twice last year, splitting 1-1. They lost 39-32 to the Saints, but were victorious against the Rams. All time they are only 7-9 in the all white threads.

https://twitter.com/Seahawks/status/1707472046870167937

With Seattle wearing their all whites, it eliminates the possibility of New York wearing their own all white throwback combination. The Giants will either wear their usual home blue jersey with white pants, or perhaps breakout their home throwbacks for the first time.

Either way, it’s going to be a good uniform game for both teams on Monday night.

Seahawks to wear white jerseys at home for the first time in team history

Seattle was the last team in the NFL to have never worn their white jerseys at home

Ten years ago, the Seattle Seahawks made franchise history when they won their first ever Super Bowl. On Sunday, they will be making history again… albeit of a different variety.

On Thursday afternoon, the Seahawks announced their uniform combo for Sunday’s game, and it’s a franchise first: white jersey and blue pants, in honor of the uniforms the 2013 team wore as they won Super Bowl XLVIII over the Denver Broncos.

Not only is this the first time the Seahawks will be wearing this combination at home, it’s the first time ever for Seattle to wear a white jersey at home, regardless of the current style. Interestingly enough, the Seahawks were actually the last team in the NFL to have never donned their white threads at home. When Sunday rolls around, all 32 teams will have done it.

Many consider this to be one of the stronger – if not strongest – uniform combinations Seattle has to offer. The Seahawks wore them last week, and enjoy a very respectable 25-19 record. Behind only the regular all-blue home uniforms, 25 wins is the second most wins of any Seattle uniform combo.

Seahawks wearing white on blue combo for Week 2 vs. Lions

Seattle is 24-19 all time wearing this uniform combination

The Seattle Seahawks are set to take on the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Seattle is in a precarious position right now, courtesy of losing 30-13 in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Now the Seahawks will look to avoid going 0-2 against perhaps the hottest team in the NFL right now. The Lions upset the Kansas City Chiefs and will be having their home opener in front of what is sure to be a raucous crowd, finally getting to enjoy a Detroit team with legitimate potential.

Oh, and Seattle will have to do it without either of their starting tackles.

But if you are the superstitious type and believe uniform records and combinations mean anything, then you are in luck. On Sunday, the Seahawks will be rocking their white jersey/blue pants combo.

Seattle is typically a winner in this particular combination. Since 2012, the Seahawks are a very respectable 24-19 all time in this uniform. Unfortunately in 2022, Seattle was less than stellar, only going 1-3. But the lone win was the 48-45 shootout over the Lions in Week 4 last year.

Here’s hoping the good vibes continue for the Seahawks, as they could seriously use them right about now.
