The 2020 NFL Draft has wrapped up and the Denver Broncos have added 10 (drafted) rookies to their roster. So what happens now to the players that weren’t drafted?
Some of them will sign with teams as undrafted free agents. Denver has signed five undrafted free agents so far.
Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay shared an inspiring message for UDFAs on his Twitter page on Thursday evening.
“Remember, come preseason, it doesn’t matter if your name was called in the draft or not,” Lindsay tweeted. “Everyone still has to prove that they belong in the NFL. Its free game once you touch that field, and the best players stay. #Undrafted”
Lindsay, of course, signed with Denver as an undrafted free agent following the 2018 NFL Draft. He went on to become the first undrafted offensive rookie in NFL history to make the Pro Bowl after rushing for 1,037 yards and nine touchdowns in his first season.
Lindsay rushed for 1,000 yards again last season and he will remain a key part of the offense this year, sharing touches with Melvin Gordon.
