Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves gets a stunning launch trailer

Drake’s port-ception.

Time to dust off that compass because the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves  collection releases on PS5 soon.

Bringing together the classic PS4 titles  Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End  and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, the collection showcases how stunning both games are at 4k resolutions and ridiculously high framerates. Amazing how some extra technical horsepower can make five-year-old games look like a  brand new PS5 release.

To celebrate the launch of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves, Sony released a brand new trailer that gives us a sneak-peak at what to expect from the collection. The  multiplayer from Uncharted 4  isn’t  part of this release, but aside from that, all content from PS4 releases is here.

Well, it certainly looks gorgeous. Anyone who would like to experience this one should check out  the PlayStation Direct program  to maybe get the elusive PS5.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves comes to PS5 on Jan. 28, 2022, while the  PC version is coming later  this year. Like with God of War, Sony is going all-in on PC ports for its games. Now please give us Bloodborne  PC, I am begging.

The timing for this release couldn’t be better, as the Uncharted  movie starring Tom Holland is out in about a month.

The Uncharted movie gets a second trailer

Holland swings about as usual.

The second trailer for Uncharted  is here, and it’s every bit as action-packed as the video games.

With the entire world still caught up in Spider-Man: No Way Home  hype, Sony Pictures thought it best to give the people a bit more Tom Holland just in time for the holidays. Sure, the  Uncharted  film left Holland battered and broken, but that didn’t stop him from delivering solid performance as the ever-so charismatic Nathan Drake. At least, if this trailer is any indication, many people  weren’t huge fans of his look on the film’s poster.

You can check out the trailer for Uncharted  below.

Have to say Holland as Nathan Drake is growing on me here.

There’s a decent number of references towards the games in this one. Obviously, the big one is Holland flying out the back of an airplane like what happened to Nathan Drake in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception

I’m not seeing anything echoing what happened in the later series entries, though if you want to experience those, it might be best just to check out the  Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves  collection on PS5. It contains both Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End  and  Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

Tom Holland fits the part of Nathan Drake in this Uncharted poster

Drake’s way home.

The Uncharted  movie might not be out until next year, but Sony Pictures revealed its poster Wednesday.

While virtually everyone on the planet is tripping over themselves to see Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home  in theaters this week, Uncharted released its official poster, which, get ready for it: has Holland dead-center. Oh, and Mark Wahlberg is there too — sadly, he is not a Spider-Man too.

Pundits have said from the beginning that the actor was too young to play grizzled adventurer Nathan Drake, but he sure looks the part here. Holland recently said  filming Uncharted  ‘broke’ him due to all the stunt work.

The poster is somewhat reminiscent of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, which came out on the PS3 back in 2011. Maybe it’s just the side profile and brownish hues, though.

Uncharted is coming out on Feb. 18 only in theaters. Hopefully, it ends up being one of the  better video-game-to-film adaptations

Anyone looking to brush up on the series before the film comes out will be happy to know  Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves, which contains Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, is coming to PS5 on Jan. 28, along with PC later in 2022.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves gets PS5 release date, PC details

Drake is back in 120FPS.

The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves  collection is coming to PS5 soon, with the PC version releasing later down the line.

In a post on the  Playstation Blog, Sony announced several key details regarding the PS5 re-release collection of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End  and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, including technical upgrades, pricing details, and when the games are releasing.

The release date for Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves  on PS5 is Jan. 28, 2022.

Regrettably, the PS5 remasters will not come with the multiplayer modes from the PS4 versions,  confirming rumors from a couple of weeks back.

However, the PC version of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves  will not come out the same day as PS5. It’s still coming in 2022, though Sony gave no release window.

If you’re keen on seeing what Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves  looks like running on PS5, check out the trailer below.

If you already own Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End  and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy  on PS4, Sony is offering a PS5 upgrade plan. For $10, you can get Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves  on PS5. Again, this offer is only for those that already own the PS4 versions of those games.

Here are some technical improvements coming in the Uncharted  remasters:

  • Fidelity Mode at 4K resolutions with a 30 FPS cap
  • Performance Mode, which targets 60 FPS
  • Performance+ Mode, which aims for 1080p 120 FPS

These games sure look incredible at higher framerates, that’s for sure.

Uncharted 4’s multiplayer allegedly not in the PC and PS5 versions

An ESRB rating suggests there’s no multiplayer in the ports.

The upcoming Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection for PS5 and PC might not include multiplayer, Video Games Chronicle  reported Thursday.

Announced back in September during Sony’s  PlayStation Showcase, the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves  collection includes ports of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End  and Uncharted: Lost Legacy. Back when these titles came out on PS4, a competitive multiplayer mode was included that allegedly might not be in the collection.

The ESRB rated the collection  recently, stating there are “no interactive elements” in Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves. According to the ESRB, this means there’s probably no multiplayer in this release.

“Interactive Elements highlight interactive or online features that may be of interest or concern but do not influence the rating assignment of a product,” reads the ESRB’s  ratings guide. “This includes users’ ability to interact with each other, the sharing of users’ location with other users, if purchases of digital goods or services are offered, and/or if unrestricted internet access is provided.”

Keep in mind this is not a confirmation that there is no multiplayer in the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves  collection just yet. Still, it’s not hard to imagine Sony or Naughty Dog chose to ax the mode. The multiplayer for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End  never quite took off, perhaps because it came out the same month as Overwatch  in 2016.

God of War, another high-profile Playstation exclude, is also coming to PC early next year.

Tom Holland claims the Uncharted movie ‘broke’ him

No pain, no gain?

Shooting the upcoming Uncharted  film was incredibly difficult for Tom Holland.

During an  interview with GQ, Holland revealed that the film adaptation of PlayStation’s hit action-adventure game was an enormous physical undertaking.

“I never realized how lucky I am that Spider-Man wears a mask because when he’s bouncing around and flying from buildings, that’s all CG. In Uncharted, it’s just me in a henley and cargo pants,” Holland said via GQ. “That film absolutely broke me.”

Amazingly, the actor only had three days between wrapping up filming on  Uncharted  in Berlin before he immediately flew over to Atlanta to work on  Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Check out the Uncharted movie for yourself below.

Holland went on to mention he had developed tendinitis while working on Uncharted. It’s nothing severe, just a sign of the physicality his roles usually require.

“I was going to the gym in the morning like, ‘Oh, my God, I’ve must have torn something in my leg,’ and the guys were like, ‘You haven’t, you’re just tired and you’re getting older,'” Holland said  via GQ.

The big-screen adaptation of Uncharted  is coming on Feb. 22, 2022, which is around the same time that the  Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection  is allegedly releasing too.
