The Georgia Bulldogs lost 44-28 to the Florida Gators in a game that was almost entirely decided in the first half, in which Kyle Trask and the Gator offense produced 38 points.
UGA trailed 38-21 at the half forcing, quarterback Stetson Bennett into obvious passing situations, which is not Georgia’s recipe for victory.
Georgia’s defense played better in the second half, but failed to force many turnovers to aid a desperate comeback attempt. Dan Mullen and the Florida offense impaled Georgia’s defense with countless wheel routes and passes to wide open running backs.
In the second half, Kirby Smart swapped quarterbacks, but D’Wan Mathis was as ineffective as Bennett. Both players threw interceptions, completed under half their pass attempts and overthrew numerous open receivers down the field.
Now, Georgia is extremely banged up and is out of the SEC Championship picture unless Florida loses twice and the Dawgs win out. This seems unlikely, meaning Smart and the staff should focus on developing talent and establishing a more cohesive system.
How Georgia football Twitter reacted following the painful defeat to Florida:
Watching Dwan Mathis play QB for Georgia absolutely validates why Stetson Bennett has been the starter.

I know Georgia is down a bunch of guys but their is no excuse for giving up 38 at the half. None.
