3 reasons why Clemson could beat Georgia this weekend

Here’s 3 reasons why Clemson could beat Georgia on Saturday night.

No. 5 Georgia takes on No. Clemson Saturday night in Charlotte, N.C. in an epic season opening matchup.

Georgia, led by star quarterback J.T. Daniels, boasts one of the best rosters in college football. The Bulldogs have more five-star recruits on the roster than any other program in the country in 2021.

There isn’t much difference on the other side. Clemson has six-straight playoff appearances and returns a Heisman favorite quarterback in D.J. Uiagalele along with almost every defensive starter from a year ago.

The Bulldogs do have advantages on the line of scrimmage. UGA returns two of the top offensive lineman in the SEC on offense in Jamaree Sayler and Justin Shaffer and on defense, Jordan Davis and Devonte Wyatt return to make Georgia’s front seven one of the best in the entire country.

That said, the Tigers have advantages of their own. Here’s three reasons why the Tigers could win on Saturday night.

The No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs and No. 3 Clemson Tigers headline college football’s exciting slate of games in Week 1. The Bulldogs and Tigers are playing each other for the first time since 2014.

Clemson is Georgia’s second most-frequently played nonconference opponent in history behind Georgia Tech. The game, which has College Football Playoff implications, will be played in Charlotte, North Carolina, at Bank of America Stadium.

The wait for many college football fans is almost over! It’s time to get excited for the return of Georgia football!

Ernie Johnson, who attended the University of Georgia, voiced over a hype video for Georgia Bulldogs fans ahead of the season opener against Clemson:

Johnson’s preview notes how long the wait has been for fans, coaches and players. Both Georgia and Clemson players have been working hard all offseason for Week 1 and beyond.

It’s about time for the Dawgs to go to work! Georgia and Clemson should be a memorable season opener for both fan bases. A loss does not eliminate either team from the College Football Playoff hunt, but it would give the loser a small margin of error.

Aaron Murray makes his UGA vs Clemson pick

We are less than 10 days away until No. 5 Georgia takes on No. 3 Clemson in Charlotte on September 4.

With football season on the horizon, it means predictions are beginning to roll in.

This week, former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray, Kevin Carter and Brian Jones made their predictions for the big game.

All three are rolling with the Dawgs.

Murray had this to say on the game:

β€œI am going with Georgia,” Murray said. β€œJT Daniels – this is the first time, in his career, that he is the starter from day one. He had to battle at USC, he had to battle when he got to Georgia – battle an injury. He has been the leader in spring, summer, fall camp. He is the guy they can rally around offensively. Hopefully, they open it up a little bit with Todd Monken. Defensively, they are going to be great. They will be able to run the football. A little worried about the receivers, but you got a quarterback finally in Athens.”

Clemson clears star WR Justyn Ross to play

Clemson Tigers wide receiver Justyn Ross has been cleared to return to football after missing the 2020 college football season.

Clemson Tigers wide receiver Justyn Ross has been cleared to return to football after missing the 2020 college football season. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney cleared Ross, who is the Tiger’s top receiving threat.

Ross underwent spinal surgery last year, which forced him to miss the college football season. Ross is still out of practice for a few days as he remains in COVID-19 protocols.

The Georgia Bulldogs will face the Clemson Tigers on Sept. 4 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Ross is expected to be matched up often against his former teammate Derion Kendrick, who transferred to Georgia this offseason.

It is great to see an elite player like Ross cleared return to game action. He has NFL draft hopes and is one of the most electric players to watch in college football.

Ross caught 46 passes for 1,000 yards as a freshman for Clemson in 2018. He helped the Tigers win the national championship with a spectacular performance.
