No. 5 Georgia takes on No. Clemson Saturday night in Charlotte, N.C. in an epic season opening matchup.
Georgia, led by star quarterback J.T. Daniels, boasts one of the best rosters in college football. The Bulldogs have more five-star recruits on the roster than any other program in the country in 2021.
There isn’t much difference on the other side. Clemson has six-straight playoff appearances and returns a Heisman favorite quarterback in D.J. Uiagalele along with almost every defensive starter from a year ago.
The Bulldogs do have advantages on the line of scrimmage. UGA returns two of the top offensive lineman in the SEC on offense in Jamaree Sayler and Justin Shaffer and on defense, Jordan Davis and Devonte Wyatt return to make Georgia’s front seven one of the best in the entire country.
That said, the Tigers have advantages of their own. Here’s three reasons why the Tigers could win on Saturday night.

Clemson Tigers wide receiver Justyn Ross has been cleared to return to football after missing the 2020 college football season. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney cleared Ross, who is the Tiger’s top receiving threat.
Ross underwent spinal surgery last year, which forced him to miss the college football season. Ross is still out of practice for a few days as he remains in COVID-19 protocols.
The Georgia Bulldogs will face the Clemson Tigers on Sept. 4 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Ross is expected to be matched up often against his former teammate Derion Kendrick, who transferred to Georgia this offseason.
It is great to see an elite player like Ross cleared return to game action. He has NFL draft hopes and is one of the most electric players to watch in college football.
Ross caught 46 passes for 1,000 yards as a freshman for Clemson in 2018. He helped the Tigers win the national championship with a spectacular performance.
