Bill Belichick asks funny rhetorical question regarding Tyreek Hill’s speed

Who is the fastest player in the NFL? According to Bill Belichick, there’s no question that it’s Kansas City Chief’s receiver Tyreek Hill. The New England Patriots head coach was asked about Hill’s speed during his press conference on Wednesday.

“Yeah he definitely is,” Belichick said. “Does anyone not think he’s the fastest player in the league?”

“What difference does it make?” Belichick continued. “Once you’re faster than everybody else, you’re faster than everybody else.”

Hill ran a 4.25 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, and unlike many players, his speed translates to the field. Here’s a video that exemplifies how much faster he is than anyone around him.

The Patriots will host the Chiefs in Week 14 and they’ll have a healthy offensive unit that includes Hill, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes. These three have only played together in two games this season, compared to the every game last year. Kansas City is sitting with an underwhelming 8-4 record, but that’s mostly due to the injuries this season.

New England is sitting at 10-2 and they can’t afford to lose two consecutive games because of the completion in the AFC right now. Somehow, they’ll have to slow down Hill, Kelce and this dynamic offense.

Chiefs’ opponent preview, Week 13: Scouting the Raiders

A detailed scouting report on the Chiefs’ Week 13 opponent, the Oakland Raiders.

The 7-4 Kansas City Chiefs return from their bye week to face the 6-5 Oakland Raiders at Arrowhead.

Back in Week 2, the Chiefs beat the Raiders 28-10. Oakland jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead but would fall flat and not score another point. The Chiefs exploded in the second quarter with 28 points and never look back.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 443 yards and four touchdowns and receiver Demarcus Robinson had a career day with six receptions for 172 yards and two touchdowns.

Kansas City is looking to sweep Oakland for the fifth time in the last seven seasons. If it does, it will essentially have a three-game lead over the Raiders with just four games to go, all but locking up the AFC West.

Make sure to check out our first scouting report on the Raiders earlier this season. There you’ll find the history between these two teams, the Raiders’ key additions and subtractions in personnel, key players, and coaching schemes. Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid addressed the media Monday afternoon ahead of a contentious AFC West matchup against the Oakland Raiders. The veteran head coach began the 10-minute presser with some injury updates regarding key members of the Chiefs offense.

Running back LeSean McCoy is not in concussion protocol, per Reid. This should come as a relief to Chiefs Kingdom, who need a healthy offensive core to withstand the Raiders’ defense. He left the Week 11 game against the Los Angeles Chargers to be evaluated for a head injury, resting up over the bye week. This is also especially good news for Shady considering his past history of concussions. Wednesday’s injury report should provide further confirmation and at the same time deliver an update on the status of running back Damien Williams, who suffered a rib injury in Week 11.

As for wide receiver Tyreek Hill, Reid said he remains hopeful that he could suit up against the Raiders, but also added he will be monitoring the three-time Pro Bowler during practice.

Reid also touched on his longtime rivalry with Raiders coach Jon Gruden, adding that the two have developed a friendship over the course of their careers.

“I have a lot of respect for Jon Gruden as a football coach and friend,” the veteran play caller said. “They were on a roll, and now you put things on the line here. It should be a great game and I know Arrowhead will be rocking this Thanksgiving weekend.”

With the Raiders coming off an embarrassing 34-3 defeat against the New York Jets in Week 12, there’s no doubt they’ll be marching into Arrowhead with a vengeance. The Chiefs got the best of their divisional foes when they last met in Week 2, scoring all of their points in the second quarter of the 28-10 win. Considering how Andy Reid performs after a bye week and the afternoon matchup is a home game for the Chiefs, this game should go in Kansas City’s favor.

Report: Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill’s hamstring strain considered ‘minor’

Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill’s MRI appears to have revealed the best possible scenario for his hamstring strain.

The Kansas City Chiefs appear to have received some good news about star wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

According to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Hill’s hamstring strain suffered in the Week 11 win over the Chargers is considered minor. Hill was set to have an MRI on his hamstring to determine the grade of the sprain. The MRI seems to have revealed the best possible outcome.

Rapoport likened this to an injury that would occur in training camp. He also said Hill is considered day-to-day with the injury. Don’t worry, this isn’t Eric Berry’s “day-to-day.” Hill is likely to miss no time at all with the bye week for Kansas City occurring in Week 12. He’ll have a full seven days of rest, including today, before the next practice.

It’s no surprise that Hill wanted to go back in against the Chargers. He’s a top-notch competitor, and his injury didn’t seem all that bad when it occurred. The team training staff allowed him back onto the field, but he didn’t have his helmet, suggesting they decided to take the cautious approach. He was seen pacing the sideline during the game and talking to wide receivers coach Greg Lewis. Hill likely petitioned to get back into the game but also provided some of his insight to the coaching staff.

At the end of it, the Chiefs didn’t need Hill to seal the victory in Mexico City. However, it was clear that Hill was an integral part of the game plan and is key to defeating man-to-man coverage. They’ll need him healthy for the next five weeks if they’re to get back to doing what they like to do on offense.

Bills playoff picture: Chiefs’ Tyreek Hill scheduled for MRI

Buffalo Bills playoff picture news: Injury update on Kansas City WR Tyreek Hill.

An MRI will revealed how long the Kansas City Chiefs could be without wide receiver Tyreek Hill down the stretch run.

In their 24-17 win over the Chargers on Monday Night Football, Hill left the game with a right hamstring injury. Chiefs Wire reported on the MRI on Monday.

Hill is quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ top-target in the Chiefs’ dynamic offense. At 7-4 overall, KC is currently the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoff picture. Buffalo is at No. 5, the first wild card spot.

With their close records in mind, the Chiefs could be a team Buffalo faces if the Bills reach the postseason. Had the playoffs started last week, that would have been the case.

But we might need to wait a bit to hear a status update on Hill. The Chiefs are entering their bye in Week 12, so media availability will be at a minimum in Kansas City. Hamstring injuries are known to linger, and missing your best playmaker is never a good thing, even with a QB like Mahomes in the fold.

The 25-year-old wide receiver has been held to seven games played this season already due to injury. He’s made 33 catches for 543 yards with five scores. Hill also ranks as Pro Football Focus’ best receiver in the entire NFL with an overall grade of 90.4.

The Bills and Chiefs are not slated to faceoff in a head-to-head meeting during the remainder of the regular season.

WATCH: Tyreek Hill to have MRI on right hamstring after MNF injury

Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill is set to have an MRI on his right hamstring “in the next day or so,” NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday.

Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill is set to have an MRI on his right hamstring “in the next day or so,” NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday.

Hill suffered a hamstring injury on the last play of the first drive of Kansas City’s 24-17 win against the Chargers Monday night at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

The 25-year-old left the field and was worked on by the medical staff on the sideline before heading to the locker room. Hill returned to the sideline but never re-entered the game Monday.

Hill missed four games this season (Week 2 through Week 5) with a sternum injury. He averages 16.5 yards per catch on 33 receptions for 543 yards in seven games this season. Hill has scored 5 touchdowns this year.

The Chiefs (7-4) lead the AFC West and are now in their bye week for Week 12.

Report: Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill scheduled for MRI on injured hamstring

Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill is scheduled for an MRI to find out the severity of his hamstring strain.

[jwplayer dI8cV591-ThvAeFxT]

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill suffered a right hamstring strain against the Los Angeles Chargers in Mexico City during Week 11.

As the Chiefs return to Kansas City from their international journey, they’ll begin to work through some of the injuries suffered during the game and do follow-up work.

According to a report from NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Hill has been scheduled for an MRI on his hamstring sometime in the next day or so. This should help determine the timeline for his recovery.

The MRI will determine which of the three grades of strain Hill is dealing with; Grade 1 is a muscle pull and grades 2 and 3 are more severe, typically including a tear of the muscle. The best-case scenario would be that this is a grade 1 or even a grade 2 strain. Having a bye during Week 12 will allow Hill to have enough time to heal in both of those cases. If Hill suffered a grade 3 strain, however, he could be out a month or longer.

The injury occurred early in the game, and Hill was ruled questionable to return. He was never officially ruled out, but he didn’t return to the game. Instead, he spent the night on the sideline pacing around and standing very close to wide receivers coach Greg Lewis. I have to think if they anticipated this being a significant strain they would have insisted that he take a seat or remain in the locker room.

In any event, we should know more about Hill’s injury and the recovery timeline next week at the latest.

Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill questionable to return vs. Chargers after suffering hamstring injury

Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill is questionable to return to the game.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill came off the field hobbled following the first offensive series for the team.

Hill limped off the field and immediately went to the Chiefs head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder. He spent a short time on the training table where they worked on his hamstring a bit. He briefly returned to the bench before getting more treatment from Burkholder.

After some conversation with the training staff, Hill walked to the locker room unassisted. That at least tells you it isn’t serious because he didn’t need the cart. Shortly afterward, Hill was ruled questionable to return with a hamstring injury.

It’s entirely possible that Hill went back to the locker room to receive IV fluids for cramping. His injury on the field was non-contact and didn’t appear to occur during the play. After the play, he took a few paces and he clutched at his hamstring before hobbling off the field. That suggests that this could simply be a cramp and that Hill could return to the game. The Chiefs had made it a point to emphasize hydration and extra rest because of the elevation difference in Mexico City. It appears that might have not been enough for the Chiefs’ speedster.

At the same time, this could be a pulled muscle, which potentially wouldn’t allow for Hill to return to the game. We’ll just have to wait and see if he can manage his way back on the field anytime soon.
